I might be wrong but dosen't some of the age thing have to do with the body's ability to absorb alcohol sometimes not all the time a body's ability at 18,19, or even 21 is not that strong the older the person the better the body's ability.

you are correct...you liver doesn't fully mature till around 20-22 different for different people

Well, theres nothing stopping kids my age from getting alcohol, at all. I could get it from several sources right now if I wanted, and its the same with millions of other underage drinkers, yet all of these problems you list aren't on the scale you say they would be. Just make an observation. :)

Yer right. I did my fair share of underaged drinking my damn self. However, there were alot of kids that wouldnt do it because it was illegal or because their parents would kill them. And Im sure this new group, however large, would cause a jump percentile wise is some of those areas. None of the outcomes I said were anything possitive. So why give some room to kick it up a notch? Besides, seeing young folks in a bar able to drink before I legaly could would be a little shitty. I'd probably get pissed if I was on E and J. Good thing I dont drink E and J anymore. :D Yer underage arent you?

I can't really form an opinion on this. First I'm against it because of the probability of it causing more accidents with teenagers. Then, it wouldn't bother me because hell underage college and high school kids are going to drink if they want to drink.

My next thought comes from the fact that I'm pissed off that it might get lowered, cause I didn't touch a drop of alcohol (ok my parents gave me weak/cheap wine watered down with 7up when I was a kid)... but I never drank to get drunk before I was 21. Now they're going from illegal to legal in a heartbeat (if it gets passed). lol

I guess I'll say that it really depends on if the kids can handle it and drink responsibly.

If it happens, the DUI/DWI laws NEED to be toughened up to handle the possible rise in cases.

Back in the day it was pretty much anything although I did drink alot of King Cobra LOL. My poison right now is Kilians. I stay away from brandy. That shit turns me into a monster. Bacardi has been making a pressence lately.

I really cant understand some laws! (Here and in the USA!) You cant have a beer till you're 21 there but you can die for your country before then, right? Its like over here where you can have sex at 16 but you cant watch it till 2 years later on DVD or video! Some laws are completely fucked up!:confused

I see that several of you brought up the fact that you can die for your country but you can't have a drink... good point, except... before you go to die for this country you have to go through boot camp. They take these 18 year old boys, break them down and turn them into men.
So I say, if you are 18 years old and want to drink like an adult, then you should go through boot camp and prove you can be responsible.

Hell, I think every kid (boys and girls) should be hauled off to boot camp and taught respect the day they turn 18 :D

I think you should have to be 21 before you can drink or go to war. You should be able to join the military, but not be sent to the battlefield until the age of 21.

i can see 18 for those in the millitary but thats it , if you can go to war you should be able to have a beer.;)

Once again I agree with homer, is a man or woman mature enough to drink or gamble a 18 NOPE. but certain benefits have to be extended to service members that sign up for service. At times of war these young peop,le sign up to go to war, let'em drink.
