Dorsal dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Necromancer dragons hunt down dying creatures, pulling their fading life from their body before they die. They then use the accumulated energy as a source for their magical spells, channeled through the markings covering their bodies. As they gather the life, the amount of pain and despair they encounter from the dying surrounds the energy, and the dragon, with a blood-like aura, leading to the common superstition that the Necromancers are evil.

[FONT="]“He wants everyone as his slaves,” said Peter. “And I mean everyone. Even his brothers will be his slaves. He will show no mercy. Maybe he will accept those that are as evil as him, but I doubt he wants to share his power with anyone.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]Troy opened his mouth to speak but suddenly he sensed something coming toward them, from the air – a rocket.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Before he had the chance to warn everyone, the rocket, apparently aiming directly at Peter, froze in midair, inches from Peter’s head.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Everyone was awed by this, but Peter was not because apparently he had frozen it in midair. With a flick of his hand the rocket exploded.[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Peter….what in the world…” began Jasper.[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Peter got his powers,” said Richard quietly. “I have seer powers; his is telekinesis.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Kyle, you, and I have yet to find out what ours are,” Justin told Jasper.[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Who launched that rocket?” demanded Troy. “And why was it aimed at us – and at Peter particularly?”[/FONT]
[FONT="]“It’s Edward,” answered Peter. “He’s been attacking us a lot lately. As for why he aimed at me, I’m not sure.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Wait a sec!” said Jasper suddenly. “How did Edward know where we were?”[/FONT]
[FONT="]“Either he’s good at guessing,” said Peter, going pale, “or the rockets are seekers.”[/FONT]
[FONT="]“I’m going with the seekers,” said Jasper, “because there is no way he knows where we are. Now he does, because of the rocket.”[/FONT]
