Personally I think stating things without backing them up is more of a sign of dictatorship to be honest. If people don't want to debate, then what are they doing in the debate section of the forum?

Giving an opinion isn't alright?
Giving an opinion is fine, if you have an opinion about something though, I don't see why it should be such a big deal to give your reasons for it if someone asks?:dunno
But if you don't want to, shouldn't the other person respect that and not badger you?
It isn't a big deal most of the time when people ask. But when a person chooses not to discuss things with a certain person because they have noticed how that person (I'm not talking about AEF, just giving general answers here) constantly takes things out of context, flies off the handle, doesn't listen empathetically, is insulting to people, always has to have the last word, or constantly beats a dead horse, a person may not want to even bother giving an explanation because they do not wish to get into a conversation with that particular poster.
True! I have to admit its is fustrating when you're having a debate though. I'm been enjoying a really good debate myself at times only to have it broken up because someone dosen't want to back up their point of view but feel they are still in a position to carry on debating with you on the same issue!
Oh and Grace, I agree with you but I think at that point its best to just back out. I've left plenty of discusions with AEF because the way its going isn't getting anywhere and we all know AEF will have the last word anyway!

The worst thought I have EVER had about a relative, was that my cousin was hot. Which is true, weird or not. She's hot, beautiful, whatever. Now, of course, there's a line between saying she's hot, and having sex with her. I'd never have sex with her. Sure, if she wasn't my cousin, I'd be on her in an instant. But she's my COUSIN. She's related to me, off-limits, disgusting, whatever you wanna call it.
Like I said, I wouldn't personally do it, but its actually quite common in a lot of cultures today and even more so in the past. The reason why you think its wrong is because of social conditioning. Also interesting to wonder why anyone of the religious persuasion who believes in the Adam and Eve stuff finds its gross because who do you think their kids reproduced with?
That's exactly what I was thinking. If the story of Adam and Eve is true, then we're all related one way or another. And actually, no matter what happened, humans were formed one way or another, and sleeping with family members had to have occured at least in the beginning, if you think about it, otherwise humans couldn't have reproduced. Even if there were like, different tribes of humans or something (if Adam and Eve never really existed) they had no way of communicating with each other, so they would've had to have slept with each other. So yeah. I personally do find it disgusting though. :ninja
