Chick Fil A faces back lash for presidents views on Family Values

Anyhoo - I found this on Facebook and it rings true to probably 99% of those people who "think" they actually did something meaningful by standing in line for deep fat fried chicken other than making the Cathy family even richer:

I like that one. Ialso like this one, which targets the selectively outraged protesters on the other side.

Protesting is fine, as long as you're prepared to stand your ground on your principles every time they are breached.

Here in the "Biblebelt" if a business is open on Christmas Day it is usually, Muslims, Budahists or atheists. As far as Christmas displays some are already going up now. LOL

To think I thought North Carolina was in the Bible belt.

I guess I should consider myself lucky if the Bible belt is south of me as there already seems to be enough extreme baptist ministers who get under my skin.

How am I not surprised you have an issue with my position. It's one thing to voluntarily close your own store based on your religious belief. It's another to tell franchise owners to close their stores based on your religious belief. Feel free to begrudge me, my opinion.

Nobody is forced to buy a franchise. And you can bet that in the purchase agreement it is stipulated to be closed on Sundays. If somebody just has to be open on Sunday they can buy a KFC franchise instead. It is call free enterprise Minor.

Here is a bible belt map:BibleBelt.png

Compound that with what is referred to as the blackbelt region in Alabama of predominantly black populated counties. You can't swing a cat without hitting a pastor.

Thought I'd share this. From my bestfriend's Facebook page today:

I just want to take a moment and voice my opinion since everyone else is voicing theirs...I do not like the opinion of "Chick-fil-a", however, I respect their opinion just as I expect my opinion to be respected by others as long as they are not out right disrespecting me and my family...you don't have to like who I love or my family dynamics, all I ask is that you respect us as the human beings that we are...with that said, LGBT community, you are not making yourself or other gay people look any better by foolish acts of kissing in front of Chick-fil-a restaurants...you are doing just as they are doing, trying to force your opinion on them, which is no better...in MY opinion, those acts are what cause people who don't know any better to form the opinions that they have about gay people...when you try to act different, then you're treated different...I have found that my wife and our family dynamics are respected and tolerated much better by straight people and die hard Christians because we don't force ourselves on them nor do we try to act "entitled"...if you don't agree with Chick-fil-a, then just get your chicken elsewhere and get over yourself....

It never once occurred to me to care about the sexual orientation of whoever I was serving while working at Chick-fil-a. I never thought "hey, this guy is gay...and he wants a chicken sandwich and some waffle fries." :24:

And ultimately, like politics, religion SHOULD have very little to do in the business workplace.

Thing is, the owner of the chicken place was ON a Christian radio station. He was only stating his opinion, which is his right. As long as the company doesn't practice discriminatory policies towards people that practice something that the owner doesn't believe in, who really cares?

I do think that the owner realized he opened up a can of worms by his comments, and I don't think you'll hear more from this subject about him, although I could be wrong.

And do you think most teenagers working at that chicken place give a rats butt what Christian values the owner of their company has? LOL

Haha i swear. People are retards sometimes. Protesting is fucking gay anyways. If you dont agree with something, dont support it. Have fun sweating your ass of standing outside with your picket signs. I will be playing madden on my xbox in the AC.

Money is money. Gay, Pedophile, Necrophiliac, their money isnt worth any less.

Personally I believe you're wrong.

I can respect people who take the time out of their lives to try and make a point.

That said, you should come down here and see all the people who show up at the courthouse and protest that God should be in schools and government more. As long as you believe in what THEY believe, you're cool. That's why I think they're some of the ultimate self serving hypocrites on the face of the earth. And generally speaking, these are the same people (protesting that God should be in government and school more) who would rather NOT have to deal with people who aren't heterosexual.

Has the business itself made an official comment about their stance?

Has any employee or potential hire ever stated they were discriminated against based on their sexuality by the company?

I only saw where the owner responded to a question on a radio show.

So much for the right to free speech
