Bush: Conservative, or moderate?

He's a die-hard conservative!

The War in Iraq, the tax cuts, the attempted privatization of social security, anti-abortion, pro-free trade, etc. He's not all conservative (NCLB is a good example), but for the most part, he's a right winger.
God, It'll be sad when he leaves office.

We've lived in many states across the US and I was the most pleased with the schools in Texas that Pres. Bush had an impact on before he took office in the WH. I do see issues with NCLB, but the system was even worse before NCLB. It is time to expand and improve on it imo.

I see him a the proverbial wolf in sheeps clothing.

He has flown the flag of reaching across the aisle, yet done the exact opposite. He acted moderate to swoon the votes he has needed to get his way.

And anyone who thinks NCLB has benefited the Texas Public School System, move back and see the wonderful mess that was left behind.

If GW is moderate, I fear what would happen if we actually got a hard line conservative in office.....Ever seen 1984?

1984 seems more like a liberal utopia to me. They are always trying to tell you what to think, eat, how to raise your kids, what vices are appropriate or inappropriate, stifle free speech and ideas that do not coincide with their own.
And on top of that, they want you dependent on big brother hence all of the entitlement programs they push for.

That's the way things work, bud. You have to appeal to get into office. Some measures have to be taken. I don't think you need to bribe people or anything like that, but the simple fact is that there are some things a politician needs to do if he's going to secure his power.

Take it from a real conservative, he's a conservative. And if we did get someone more right wing then him in office, it would just mean a few changes in the education and energy sectors, and just stronger backing for what George supports.
And the book was better.

It might have seen liberal thought until this.

DEPT. OF HOMELAND DEFENSE/PAtriot Act;)

Just my opinion, but the government can imprison you on theory, detain you without p/c and tap your phone because they think you disagree with GW.
That's how I read it

He was proud that he was a C average student
His father got him into Yale
He scored in the 25th percentile for flight school
He has a very limited vocabulary and syntax
His mother was an alcoholic prior, during and after his birth (possible fetal alcohol syndrome)
Had no interest in knowing about other countries before taking office
He often mixes two words to come up with a meaningless term
He required heavy tutoring in history, geography and international affairs before his run for office

Yup, he's conservative :24:

They only do it if you are a suspect terrorist, not if you disagree with GW. Call me naive, but I have faith that he would never detain someone because of their belies, only because of their actions or their suspected actions.
