When I replied (very first reply) and I mentioned a dressing room or restroom I meant if I were a woman I would do it for my own privacy. I never meant to imply women should be expected to do it.

When I'm out at pubs ect most men are gagging for a woman to get her tits out and will even chant for it and now some think its out of order? Must be fucking confusing for the women!

This is the main reason most women seek out private areas to breastfeed .. because there is always that one rude mother fucker that likes to run their mouth (not saying you Peter, but the people you are speaking of in your post).

Like it or not breasts are sexual objects. That isn't ever going to change .. not in the US anyways. They aren't allowed on daytime television, they are labled NSFW on forums (even that cleavage only shot up there is actually NSFW by most "work" standards .. I mean, you aren't allowed to wear shirt slike that TO most business work places), and they are what most men look directly at 90% of the time in a sexual manner. And we won't even get into all the pervs who get off on that kinda thing.

Now, do I think a mother should have to get up and go elsewhere .. absolutely not. Would I get up and go somewhere else .. absolutely yes.

Why? Because I don't want my BF's mother or father (oh lord lol) .. or even my father .. or anyone else besides my BF seeing my boobs. It would make me terribly uncomfortable. They are a personal possession of mine, and I like to decide how much of them people are allowed to see, and I'm personally not comfortable with just anyone seeing my naked breasts (although I used to not care .. for whatever reason now I do .. old age I suppose lol).

But I think it should be up to the mother to decide though. And I don't think you'd get asked to leave in the US .. we have WAY to many lawsuits over handicap issues .. and that's exactly what it would fall under. And if you do .. they have left themselves open to a serious lawsuit and deserve a hefty fine.

I know what your saying and I find general attitude to this confusing. I really cant understand for instance why in a country that has no problem with people owning guns (not trying to change the subject) the amount of uproar that went up when Janet Jackson briefly flashed a tit with the nipple covered over, at the Superbowl!

Because we don't allow that on daytime television lol. Just how it works over here. You wanna see tits, watch HBO or Showtime .. tv channels you pay for .. not the ones just anyone can watch.

I have no clue why it matters, except for just like the NSFW tags you gotta throw up on boob pics .. the majority doens't wanna see it, so they win.

As with everything in this country .. the majority (unless you are a minority .. then the rules change) wins.

Just seems strange though, I'd be much more offended if someone walked around in public packing a gun than if someone got a tit out. Nowt as strange as folk I guess!

You can't just walk around carrying a gun either LOL .. you have to get a CCW (I think that's the acronym) to be able to do that, otherwise you go to jail.

Only time you can just tote a gun around .. is in the woods. Which also requires a license.

I dunno, people with tits out dont scare me. Someone walking around with a gun (unless they're in the woods wearing camo) scares me considerably.

Are you sure? Other Americans here were telling me that in some states or counties you have the right to walk into a shop, packing a gun!

You can have a gun, but you can't just walk around with it in your hand. It has to be in your vehicle or in a holster if its on your person. You cant have a gun within about 2000 feet of a school or public office.

I believe that they are mistaken (but then again so could I though .. I don't know every states laws concerning guns). To carry a gun around like that usually requires a CCW (concealed weapon permit).. mmm, I'd like to know where they live though if they can .. so I never go there lol.

I don't think tits scare people really lol .. I just think because of their sexual nature and the way people respond to them .. they would rather them stay covered.

I mean, men can't walk around with their junk hanging out just because they have a "medical" issue with them lol.

Ok then. Sorry if I got this offtopic though so can we leave the gun law technicalities now seeing you've explained that here. I was just making a point that there seems to be more outrage by some people over a woman getting a breast out in public that there is in the gun laws which you have mentioned which I just find very bizzare. I mean, it's not like a womans tit can be used to kill someone!

truuuuuust me, they get in an uproar over both issues .. plenty :24:

Good to know, probably just biased media we get here, same as anywhere, trust me, the anger we saw on telly from Americans over Janet Jacksons tit was far far worse than any outrage we've seen from Americans over gun laws!

You just must not have seen much gun issue topics .. those people get naaaaaaaasty over those guns laws.

The Janet Jackson thing was more .. the tv channel being mad that she pulled a "Stunt" on live TV that they didn't "know about" beforehand. Kinda like cursing .. they dont' allow that on live tv (or radio) either .. they'll bleep it out .. if it's "prime time" stuff.

The superbowl is kinda a "big deal" over here lol. (kinda silly to put so much emphasis on a football game, if you ask me though)

Yeah, I noticed this year through watching it what a big deal the Superbowl is. It really isn't just a big sports game, it's an American national day!:eek I'm with you on your take on the importance of it though!;)

I get your point, but it is different...I mean if I were to eat at the table with my mouth open and chomp my food like a cow, you WOULD be offended and ask me to eat somewhere else...so therefore give yourself and your child the privacy to eat where no one will be gawking, making comments, and feeling uncomfortable

it's not different though...my son is eating too. And I really don't care about the gawkers or the comments, we were all born where we can turn our head one way or the other. So if someone didn't like it, I would tell them just not to look. I wouldn't stop b/c someone felt uncomfortable with it.

on that note i would also say that eating together ,as family and friends has been proved to be of benefit in the development of children.
sadly eating at table together is becoming athing of the past.
so how ridiculous that if a family and extended family go out togther the new mum and her offspring have to go to a private room???
