Re: Breaking Bad anyone?

Perhaps this could be merged with this thread: http://www.offtopicz.net/showthread.php?t=62079

Anyways - watched 6 and 7 of Season 1.
Tuco is a mean motha!!!!
.

Conclusion on this first season - very interesting and a different sort of tv. Needs to be balanced for me by watching something like Glee in between. Curiosity as to what other seasons may bring will cause me to no doubt to watch Season 2.

I didn't know if I would but the first season has convinced me. Some of the characters I want to see more of too - hopefully featuring more heavily in the storylines.

I didn't realize that thread was around! Silly me! How would we merge?

As for 6 and 7 of Season 1,
Turco is fucking craaaazy. If there is anything this producer knows, it's villains!

Totally understand the balance thing...though, I am naturally amused (weirdly enough) by "train wrecks." It is really really hard for me to find shows where I cannot predict exactly what is happening next. I think that's why I loooove this show, and stupid shows like Jersey Shore (yes, guilty pleasure of mine, don't hate).

you will be in for a much heavier story line if you continue...you will see just how much you don't know the characters...crazzzy

Only the boss types can merge threads etc - but I wouldn't worry - it's not like the other has lots of posts in.

As for 6 and 7 - forgot to say
that Skyler made me laugh with her antics when she was hauled into the back for supposedly staling the Tiara
. I'm also curious to know
more about Hank. I think he could be a dark horse
. So maybe I will indeed carry on with Season 2 at some point :)

Skyler gets blamed for everything! The funny thing is, I find myself changing my opinion about her from episode to episode...I'm sure you'll feel this way often too. As for Hank, he has turned out to be one of my favorite characters

I watched 2 episodes, Season 1 of this show a few months back. However, I am on the fence with it as just like the post below by Minor axis, i feel the same way....

Thread resurrected! After 5 and 1/2 episodes (Season 1) I can no longer watch the tragedy of this character unfolding. It's good. I just can't take the subject matter. :(

I get your point re: highlighted sentence as am like that with many TV shows. I can easily get bored. Just that i keep on reading your posts here and others. Your enthusiasm shines through. Am building up enough *encouragement points* to push myself to continue to watch and give it the benefit of the doubt despite the sort of negativistic feeling i have when watching this seemingly unending tragedy/mishaps of Walter.

Skyler bugs me. She's too.. something.

I know EXACTLY what you mean ;)

Well I'm glad that I could give you a push to continue with it. If for nothing else, it is brilliantly written, and though it's not something that's going to leave you feeling warm and gushy, it leaves with that, "WHAAAAAAAAAT!?" feeling, which is just as good if you ask me :)

Well, I am still fluctuating at the 50-60 % percentile of being convinced to continue to watch or not. I need more :p

Re: Breaking Bad anyone?

wahhhh! Would it help if I told you that it gets less sad and depressing and more crazy and ridiculous??

The episode where
the RV they were mixing the Meth concoction blew up
was already crazy as it was, it can get crazier than that? :eek :p

Do you think if I was just gonna look at the action packed episodes, then maybe it can motivate me to watch?? :dunno. I guess too from my perspective, I am trying to look at what the moral of the story is.....I am not able to make the connection as
how bad Walter wants his life to be just coz he's dying from Cancer. All I can see is he's making these wrong decisions just to save up money for his family which is very noble for him but just not the right way. Seemingly, like money is the answer to it all when all he could have done is enjoy quality time with his family on his last days yet he goes into this adventure of crime with the bad people. I know it does/can happen, however what motivates you to watch besides the action filled episodes if seemingly it sort of teaches esp maybe kids whose watching it to learn that it's okay to live the criminal's way when you're at the end of your life from an illness.
Am soweee, I don't mean be to be negative about it, I just maybe need to understand? Thanks.....

Ultimately, don't forget - it's just a tv show and more pertinently - one designed to be a lot of 'bad'. Things won't necessarily end up with the happy outcome - that would be missing the point of the show.

I keep hearing good things about this show, I should watch it.

Watch the first season for sure to get a feel for it - it's only 7 episodes long.

As for it getting crazier than that...YOU HAVE NO IDEA...as for the other part of your response, I really really can only say again, YOU HAVE NO IDEA!! The show is filled with so many dimensions that I cannot even really try to explain the feeling each episode provides...I definitely think you need to give it more of a shot, finish out the season (if you haven't already) and move onto season 2. It's on season 4 now, and I'm still sitting there going "wtf!" maybe after season 2, if you're still not interested, then it's just not the show for you.

I suggest everyone check out the first 2 seasons as I think just watching the first season doesn't really show the entirety of where the show goes...

i've seen the first three seasons

but I'm taking a break from it now, mainly because Jesse and Walt are really selfish & unlikable characters

isn't that kind of the point? to make the show realistic and have characters with flaws? I dunno..I'm biased cause I love it.

Watched the first episode of season 2 and of course the ending means you just have to watch the next episode too

It's going to be interesting to see how things turn out because so far it seems things are heading towards an inexorable conclusion.

It's looking better than the first season so far anyway. Do things keep on getting better and better?

Anywho, does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can watch the rest of the episodes via online?? I don't have a TV atm. I watch via laptop. Watched the 2 episodes of Season 1 thru a DVD my friend recorded & let me borrow ( unfortunately, he stopped watching the show) Checked Hulu, and only short clips and interviews are available. None on Netflix. AMC on the other hand keeps on re-directing me to different links and am not so sure the sites are safe.

In the last episode I watched (one after 'Down') - I'm wondering about Hank -
what was going on with him in the lift. I have various things in mind
. Hopefully all will be revealed in time.

You can download the episodes...That's how I watch a majority of TV. If you want, download bittorrent or uttorent (just google them). These programs basically work like i-tunes only you can download everything...only thing is you have to use sites like www.demonoid.me or www.thepiratebay.org. You can search for full seasons. When you download them, they will download through one of the torrents. When it's done, it will be in your downloads folder, and you can watch them all!

If you choose to use demonoid, let me know. It's safer than thepiratebay, but requires an invitation. I can invite you if you'd like :)

Watched the episode "Down". boy oh boy
Jesse just can't catch a break in this episode! :p
That was a great episode
Poor Jesse...really can't catch a break! Keep on watching, gets crazy.

you will find out more in time...just happy you're at the point where the characters start showing their depths :)

Thanks mucho. That's a big help :thumbup

Pls send me an invite to demonoid. I'd rather not take the risk of going into piratebay.

I browsed AMC and was linked to Reelvidz. It seemed legit etc hence i signed up to download the show. I got ripped off $2 when i shouldn't have been charged any until after the 20 day trial. What's worse, Breaking bad is not even found on their list to download. I cancelled right away but they have removed the $2 from my account, I already have filed claim and informed my bank about it. Scammers :ninja
