Barca - The Making Of The Greatest Team In The World by Graham Hunter. Even if you don't like football, read this book. Huge work went into it from Graham (A Spanish football journalist) and other people, It chronicles mainly the building from the ground up the great Barcelona side we see now from what it was when Pep Guardiola first took over in 2008, detailing the individual factors (the odd couple chapter about Puyol and Pique is amusing in some parts) and the important matches of Pep's reign. It also details things like how Pep actually championed Jose Mourinho for the top job when it became obvious Frank Rijkaard was leaving in 2008, and how Pep got rid of the bad influences in the squad (Ronaldinho, Deco etc), nearly getting rid on Samuel Eto'o in 2008, how Messi nearly got sold to Juventus in 2006 after an impressive cameo and how hard it was to keep hold of players like Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique because of the rules on young players in Spain. Excellent read.
