From every discussion I have had about this topic I have to wonder..

This whole argument is really stupid and is really focusing on issues that people need not when your country is in a time of Crisis..

But here is a thought to consider.. I had a manufacturer here one day, way before Obama was elected, and we were discussing the issue of Presidency and why someone must be born in the US.. This guy was a dead stead Republican hard on the fact that people need to be born in the US.

So I asked him about kids of soldiers sacrificing their lives for their country and having kids on US territory far away.. A good example would be a military base in Iraq. Nope cannot be President came back the answer.. I said, wow, pretty harsh for people willing to give their lives and the children not choosing where to be born.

He went on to blab ( yes Blab ) about 14th Amendment and how it protected about people like Hitler and that was it's intent.. A little look deeper and the 14th amendment was passed on July 9, 1868 and I am quite sure that Hitler had not been around yet..

Yet he was adamant about possibly changing the Constitution for Arnold at the time.. It would only be a one time deal for this great Governor from California that was going to save the United States..

Oddly enough I asked him if he did not realize that Hitler and Arnold were both from Austria.. To my surprise he answered "Yah but we are not Germany"..

In any case I leave you with this news article about the birther movement and regardless of the facts, how it will not stop..

As bad as you all think Obama is, the reality is that any mad man can come from within your own country.. He need not be born from outside..

There was a time when many US families could not afford babies and would get Canadian Medical cards under false names, have a child in our hospitals, leave and cross the border with the child and register the birth as a live birth at home under US Soil.. How many were born in Canada that could become president "illegally" by your standards.. It took 3 weeks before I registered my son's birth, after his departure from the hospital in 2004.. THINK ABOUT IT..

This country is full of racist bigots.
Instead of coming out and saying they didn't want a black president these closet racists hid behind the birth certificate bullshit.
Now that that's settled I guess they can put their white robes on with no shame now, after all what else do they have to lose
Can you explain to us why you make such a massive jump in logic?

or are you just reacting with your emotions?

There was absolutely no legitimate reason that Obama needed to prove he was.... An American, a christian, not a Muslim, not Kenyan, not a product of affirmative action, etc.

This bullshit with the birth certificate was nothing more than a bunch of racist white folks wanting this negro to prove he was born in America. Hell, that isn't all they want.
Just listen to what is being said and how it's being said.

First he wasn't a Christian because his father was a Muslim so that makes him a Muslim.
Then he was a radical because of Pastor Jeremiah Write
Then it was that he needed to prove he was American... He produced the record of live birth, and a couple of newspaper announcements were found. But that wasn't good enough, they wanted to see the long form even though that wouldn't show anything different.

Now that he showed that, they are demanding that he show his school records. Saying that he was a bad student and inferring that he went to college only because of affirmative action...

Really? And you don't think this is racially motivated?

Producing this changes nothing.

47% of Republicans do NOT believe he was born in the US and 20% aren't sure. That's almost 70% of the Republicans that are complete morons. This is a perfect example how people like Bush get into office twice...

They don't give up do they?

" Now they're asking: Where are the president's college records, transcripts and financial statements? Where are his passport records? Why isn't information about his law license, or his parents' marriage and divorce, being made public? Was he adopted by his stepfather in Indonesia, negating his "natural-born citizen" status?

And, perhaps most unusually, some are now saying that the birth certificate still does not confirm that the president is eligible to serve in the White House. "

Again, jump in logic. You have no real, demonstrative causal link between a white person wanting to see a birth certificate and them being a "racist". But, then again, calling someone a "racist' is a really handy way to just shoo them away, huh? I've actually seen black people wanting to see his certificate. Are they self-loathing blacks because of that?

Accusation of "racism" (whatever that means now a days) is a favorite tactic of the left. it is meant to distill conversation into a "naughty" symbol in order to discredit a person.

Ever stop to think that perhaps most of it is motivated by political ideology? Party loyalty? Nah, they just want to get that nigger out of office!!!! (that was sarcasm for all of you that cannot take a hint)

For the record, I think the birth certificate thing is just a waste of everyone's time. However, I think this whole ordeal is a perfect example of what has been predicted by many: Criticisms of Obama (legitimate or otherwise) are to be viewed as "racist".

Translation: I do not have any real reasons for what I say.

Actually I'm on my phone and writing a response in detail would take too much time and battery life so its easier to not respond. Also "us" means you, and you don't really speak for enough people to be considered us.

Yeah but you see you're making illogical statements and then not bothering to explain them.

Our nation has tea partyers and minute men guarding fences. I can see motivation for them as clear as day, but because they don't come out and say truthfully what they're fighting against its going to be an uncredited accusation, but I'm sure you were ready to say that anyway

It seems to me that you're lambasting people with something bad just because you disagree with them.

Exactly.
First non-white president met with unprecedented personal witch trial before inauguration, continuing on through presidency...methinks the correlation is less a "massive jump in logic" and more a trip over a thin line.

I would concede to illogical thinking if it weren't for the fact this all occurred from day one. I am not opposed to questioning these people, but all of this is stupid.

Trump wants to start shit about grades? Do we really think dear Dubiya was hauling in high marks? Or Reagan? I don't mean to single out republicans but come on...

It would be completely different if it was a simple question about his grades and how he did in school.
But they are accusing him of having poor grades and the only reason he got into Harvard was through affirmative action and not through merit.

And yes, this is racist because it's perfectly acceptable in America to have your rich white daddy buy your C average ass into Harvard, yet it is completely unacceptable for the poor black kid to get in through affirmative action.

This new line of questioning would have a little more merit if Obama didn't graduate magna cum laude AND president of the Harvard Law Revue. I'm sorry, those honors are earned and it's insulting to even question it.

I think this is pretty undeniable.

A lot of presidents receive this sort of treatment, so this is not a new phenomena in the least.

And, again, it is a huge jump in logic. You cannot possibly have enough information about all of the people who want to see a certificate to accurately label them as a racist or not.

How does this even apply to what we are talking about? Also, pretty sure there are wealthy minorities.

man, wouldn't it be sweet if i got aid or a scholarship based off my race? or perhaps money off of my tuition if I had native american blood in me? *That* is racism.

Maybe when you finish your education, you will be better equipped to understand such things... :dunno
