I'm w/ya there. I say them that way too. Some people say Aunt as Ant (I do) or Awnt. I think that's an upNorth thing? Like saying Pocketbook instead of Purse. Oh, also, there is no R at the end of Idea. At least down here in FloriDuh.

I think the Awnt thing is a northern thang, as is axe (mentioned above). Ohhhhhhhh I don't like idear either. NO, no R in that word!! :mad

Well....being from the South, I've heard all kinds of annoying pronunciations. I think jurry for jewelry is the worst. If they're not talking about "jury" or "jurry," then they say "jewery," like there's a group of Jewish people who are up to something.

For example, our IT Director says project...PRO ject (as in Pro Footballer) which may be the way in the US (I have no idea) but over here....nuh huh.

In the US it is pronounced PRA ject (Pra as in Bra, not a bad place to be BTW)
