i hate it when people say ongyin instead of onion, and my wife calls my hibiscus flowers biscuits
I'm w/ya there. I say them that way too. Some people say Aunt as Ant (I do) or Awnt. I think that's an upNorth thing? Like saying Pocketbook instead of Purse. Oh, also, there is no R at the end of Idea.At least down here in FloriDuh.
I don't hate it but it makes me chuckle when Americans say roof (like woof like a dog would make the sound of...kinda)
What words do people say that "annoy" you or get under your skin due to how they pronounce them
For example, our IT Director says project...PRO ject (as in Pro Footballer) which may be the way in the US (I have no idea) but over here....nuh huh.
Now you go
I hate it when Aussies say Pah sta, what you got to be so posh about? Yo gurt is another one.![]()
That's like listening to Emeril Lagassi saying Cole Slawr. What???
No one I know says Parsta
What???
No one I know says Parsta
Give my missus a slap then would ya? :thumbup
Oh...except Queenslanders.....they're a breed of their own:willy_nilly:
