This thread has turned to addiction when that's not the topic.
edit - as with all substances, there's a difference between use and abuse.
You are just oozing with judgment and contradiction. So if a friend of yours has a beer or 2 at a party, he's an addict who can't control his life but you're cool with it?Drinking and smoking is an addiction, this thread reeks of addiction. I don't look down on people who do whatever they want recreationally, but when it turns into an addiction and their lives are controlled by it, I frown on it.
A glass of wine a day is recommended.where do u draw the line between use and abuse?.. if it is when there is perminant damge done.. then as in my previously mentions story.. this guy used it 1s.. and is suffereng mental ilness as a result...does single use then become abuse?

You need to look up the definition to addiction. Having one or two casual beers is NOT addiction. Drinking enough beer to make yourself puke, or getting DUIs or beating your girlfriend because you're drunk off your ass all the time IS an addiction.
Quit bringing up addiction ffs.
That's not the topic of my thread.
Do you feel you're any more or less of a risk than someone who were to snort a few lines of coke here and there?Well, most people drink I think--I do, but I don't do it to excess--haven't been drunk in a long time. I usually drink a glass or wine or two a few times a week or beer when its hot or I'm very thirsty. Occasionally I will have a Margarita if I go out for dinner.
I don't really see a problem with people who drink more, as long as like Original James said they don't let it become an addiction where it controls their lives. When you are looking forward to heavy drinking, I think that's a problem because even if you are not physicall addicted (yet) it can lead to that or you can lead to serious health problems. That's my opinion on it--moderation is the key.
I think you'll find that drinking to excess correlates strongly with age--that is the younger people here (20s) likely drink a lot more than people in their 30s or 40s. The reason are due varied, but mainly I think its due to maturing and also due to the fact you can't recover as easily anymore and it gets old waking up with a splitting headache and being hungover.
Yes. I do not drink nor drug. Drugs and alcohol ruin your brain. Are you one who frowns upon drinking and drugging? Maybe you drink but think anyone who smokes herb is a complete loser? Perhaps you believe alcohol's only for those lacking a personality? I'm curious to hear your opinions and reasoning behind them.
I drink alcohol... I don't give a fuck if a person smokes weed but if you are doing hardcore drugs then you are a straight up fucking idiot and a loser to boot. *awaits members to get on his ass like a rabid dog*Are you one who frowns upon drinking and drugging?
