Not only do we have to provide defense to most of the world, we have to provide them with money. If not for America, the rest of the world crumbles, plain and simple. I challenge any one of you to come up with a better way to handle things. Sure, mistakes have been made. But not one group of people have governed this country without them. I just hope America learns from this biggest blunder and instead of trying to go in and "kid glove" a country, they go in and take it. Why are Americans still dying over there by Camel rockets? Or car bombs? Its because they are limited by what they can do.

I don't think anyone really has a fail proof plan for Iraq right now. But I can tell you, they will never accept OUR kind of democracy when we use force to implement it.

If we don't buy it, then China, Russia, Germany, Korea, Australia, Japan, ... etc. will buy it... Actually, Saddam threatened the US by saying it wasn't going to sell us the oil, that he was going to sell it to the Chinese instead. It's one of the main reasons the government had to take him out. Iraq is sitting on the worlds 3rd largest reserve of oil. The US HAS to have access to it when the rest of the worlds supply dwindle. For the US to be able to continue on its present course, that oil is something that we cannot afford to loose.

You are right, I won't. I've read some of his writings in school and I have no desire to listen to him if I don't have to. In my opinion he has gone out of his way to omit the context, twist words or omit words of others in many of his writings. He is also an anarchist/socialist with an anti-war agenda. Chomsky pretty much believes that all the ills of this world are centered in Washington, in which I disagree. He is more than welcome to his freedom of speech, I just won't be bothered with his mutterings.

Not totally true. We are America. We would no doubt adapt and do what is needed. We are not the only country that does bad. We do way more good than bad. Take us out of the equation, bam, the world is living in the stone age riding around on horses and camels.

We have to use force to keep the idiots from killing off each other. I for one say to pull out our troops and let them duke it out. Survival of the fittest, I say.

I don't need to know who is going to be elected. Whoever it is will have a shit-storm to deal with and they have tasks ahead that will no doubt tarnish their administration as well. So, as they try to "fix" America, no doubt this country will go into another recession as taxes are raised to pay off some ficticious debt we have (by the way, all of you who think Clinton actually got rid of this are sadly mistaken. These funds come out of Social Security.)
