And Tuxx- Thanks, but for the part about not wanting to be rude and/or offensive: What is that about? Censorin one's thoughts or feelings for the sake of not "harming" the one's around you; who does this help, and how?

I understand your question
Say you walk into a class and you get put beside with someone who kind of annoys you (because they might act a little different, idk). Although it's not much, your thoughts think otherwise and for all anyone cares, you could just cuss the person out to no end. So you do.

Well, first off, that could hurt the person's feelings, depending on how they take things like that, plus everyone around will either praise or hate what you did. You could possibly get punished for doing that

If you chose not to do so, well, it would save the alternative timeline of possible troubles
Plus possibly saving that person from going home at night thinking everyone hates them

I do love, though, opinion, and simply censoring someone's opinion (just because it might seem mean) is wrong, and you are right there
I'm just saying that a person who has suicidal thoughts could use more comfort and positive, optimistic thoughts, rather than negative ones towards them, so they could possibly recover and not commit suicide (in this case this person is already dead x.x but lets just say this person WAS highly thinking about killing theirselves and sought a little help)

Sorry if i seem angry at anyone at all i really don't like taking sides on arguments

Tuxx- ...WTF? Firstly, I'm not talking about real-life situations, where suicidal people's feelings may be pushed to the edge. And I understand...that a positive feedback can be helpfull, okay?

Secondly, there are no sides in this argument, nor any other. To sum people's thoughts and ideas into on of two seperate categories is to negate those thoughts and feelings in any matter that's actually important.

PS: I love your Avatar. It's perfect.

Wait a minute . . .

"Alice in Chains", did you really mention bullying with me and you in the same statement? I've never been bullied in my wholel ife, cause to be bullied, you have to stand down to those who would put you down. PLEASE, don't loop me in to whatever stupid shit you say. No offense. "_" V

I am not biased to ANYONE in this thread, but I can clearly see that you are ignorant on the topic of bullying and cyber-bullying. Maybe you should spend some time learning what it really is before you make such outlandish statements like the one above.

If you don't know the difference between disagreements and bullying, then you have a lot to learn.

I do know the difference. You won't admit that some of the same insultful and attacking remarks said to me in this thread (AND NO DON'T REFER TO POSTS THAT ARE UNOFFENSIVE, THAT'S JUST STUPID.)are the same torment and bullying said to that girl based on emoitonal angry povs. It is called having an "opinion" when y'all do it. :)

I agree that it's sad but it's just hard for me to believe she didn't provoke the situation or do something to fix it ONLINE. If it was inreality I can see having a more compassionate view on this.

I thought that some were people that she knew in real life that followed her to the internet to continue on

I have not bothered to look into the details of what she put up with. You sure it is in line with what has been said to you where she fought back and opened herself up to bullshit?

There are people that get picked on that it was not their doing. I know. I still have scars from that bullshit in high school. And trust me I was in no position to fight back. I sucked it up and did my best to not inflame.

If you are seriously comparing what has been said in this thread to actual bullying then you apparently don't know the difference.

No one in this thread is intentionally trying to harm you. No one in this thread is following you around with texts, facebook, email and various other forms of communication to make sure you get no rest from the harassment. It was a few posts in one thread pointing out strong opposing views to your ill-informed, uneducated statements. And if you consider that cyber-bullying then you CANNOT know what the term really means.
Take a moment and read some of the stories of people who have experienced it first hand. Walk in their shoes and read the absolutely hateful and malicious attacks they have to endure day in and day out where ever they go on the net. Then come to me with your pitiful complaints on how you were bullied in this thread.

I was badly bullied in 6th grade so shut the fuck up and stop pretending you're some kind of authority.

My opinion, one wouldn't comitt suicide (unless predisposed) simply because anonymous people said bad things about you. There would HAVE to be some personal contact for it to cut so deeply you reach that frame of mind.

Someone being bullied by others on a web site they do not know do not keep coming back for more abuse..

The article in question in the OP talked about this girl ( obviously not read by some, read both True Crime Report and Boston Globe links ) who was bullied both at school but mostly on social web sites and by text by people from her school.. They were people she knew very well and this was over her dating a boy they believed she should not, hence jealousy..

I can't speak for people here but I was bullied at school and so were my kids.. I was a passive kid that did not retaliate and found ways around the bullies that ensured I was safe without getting into more trouble.. I showed my kids and still am how to deal with it in the same manner.. Violence only leads to further violence.. The bullies at my school were break the bones type when I was in school.. No social web sites back then and many took their lives from all the beatings one had..

Anyone who has not seeked psychological help for such harsh bullying should.. You need it to put life back in perspective.. Nope I am not a Psychologist and I am not in classes.. This is just my opinion..

This is my final post here..
