when they don't have the incentive, desire, or intent to keep themselves out of trouble. they want to get in trouble and piss people off, then leave before they're attacked. well, it sucks for her but she happened to get caught in her own game.

i'm positive about positive things, not about rationalizing bullshit. :p perhaps im just smarter than you

Cyber-bullying is one of the worst things that could happen to some children. Some people can really hurt children and now a days children who have low-self esteem and seem to believe that they aren't "good enough" start feeling worse about themself. I hate cyber-bullying. People can be really mean.

I'm a 30 year old male, but I have quite recently encountered first hand 'cyber bullying' by people who used to bully me as a child, rather pathetically using the same kind of insults they used to use 20 years ago, luckily now I dont reallly give a fuck; at least when I was bullied at primary school it would stop when I came home.

I cant imagine what it must be like for children these days who are picked on at school, then they come home and then they are harassed online as well whether it be by email, facebook, forums or chat rooms. Even via mobile phones. I can well imagine it would tip some children over the edge.

I really cant think of a way to completely eradicate it, unfortunately in life you will always get arseholes and you will always get victims.

The only way to combat it would be if the victim spoke up and got some help, but they very rarely will..and they take matters into their own hands as seen in this story.

Very sad

I personally am not affected by 'bullying' at school, because I freely express my insanity to the general public.

Anyhow, that is truly a horrible thing to see a peer to kill themselves because some other heartless person enjoyed tormenting them. If only i could have spoke to them, as I take insults (that i rarely get) as compliments, as the people that insult you truly should have no effect on yourself, that is in assumption that the person is not physically torturing you (i'm talking mental invincibility). It goes even deeper for me to explain, but in short you "stop caring" for bad things. In assumption, once again, that the person isn't physically bullying you, I find insults funny as hell.

But just about everyone at my school is pretty cool about respect and stuff, and most insults are taken as sarcasm
Because most people are friends at school and we just play around a lot

That's a shame though

I agree..

Even worse to think you know what the heck your talking about.. :sarcasm

I guess he should ask Tim to change his name to Dr.Phil.. :24::24::24:

actually I've been attending UTA for psychology for 1.5 years now. You're both attacking me, so are you the hypocrites now? Cyber bullying someone who has different thoughts than you...?

I don't expect anyone to listen for it is probably too hard to accept.

Therein is the problem.
Please feel free to have a lay on my couch and tell me your problems. :D

There you go with the negative outlook again. Why bother wasting the words in the first place if you know nobody will listen to or understand what you have to say? Could it be you're not saying anything that makes sense in the first place?

btw, remind me not to be one of your patients. ;)

optimism is an awesome thing
The girl was being bullied
She took it to an extreme and killed herself eventually over it
we don't have enough info here really just to say that she bullied others or something

Being bullied on a random site and a real social site like Facebook are 2 different things
Facebook (in assumption that the person adds people they know at school) deals with real people who that person knows, and most likely see in every day life. To be bullied on facebook would obviously show that the victim would have to deal with that boy/girl bully on the internet the next day, IRL

To be bullied on some other random site (lets take into example, this site) shouldn't affect the person so long as they don't care, as they will most likely never see any of these people IRL. EVER. Not to mention the people who might bully on a site such as this don't know the person they're bullying, so their insults can't be taken seriously, as their insults are most likely not true. And even if they are, you still don't have to deal with the person, AND you can ignore them obviously (IRL that's a little hard). Which means they won't have to put up with the REAL issue of true bullying, as they are being talked down by "people who don't exist" (no offence, you understand what i'm saying hopefully).

AIM, can indeed, involve both. I've personally got a few people off of an old gaming site i was on long ago added.
If they insult me (they never do but if they did) I really wouldn't care, and would play along for much lolz. What are they going to do? Stare blankly at the screen? They can't come "get me", lets get real here
Now, if i added people from facebook i know onto AIM and they bullied me, then we would take the "real-life-social-facebooklike" direction, as you're chatting with people you meet daily.

Care to read this? It denounces internet drama dealing with sites that don't deal with people you meet every day, as the internet by no means is srs bzns EVER. EVEREVEREVERRRRRR
Although it doesn't basically deal with bullying, it can easily be applied to it. You only really have to read the first 2 bullets

Anyhow this isn't the case with this girl, she was dealing with ppl who she sees daily.
All i can say is that she could stop caring for insults really, I've already done it. I used to be insulted a little as a small child, and since then, I guess I must've gained respect within the community because it doesn't happen and i've gained many friends since then XD
Still a shame
She had a life ahead of her, and should have took advantage of having a senior football player as BF if she wanted
hell, i would've found those skanks jealousy funny. Even if they did fight, it would not make the whore's personality look any better, and the boy would've staid with the good girl.

This is an extremely ignorant post, how can you say something about a person if you don't know them.

Luckily I did know this girl (not personally but I was in a few of her classes when I was still at Hadley) and she was a very quiet girl who had recently moved from another country. I don't know why she was picked on but she was never loud or annoying and never seemed to want to cause anyone trouble.

So please don't say that someone got 'caught up in their own game' when they in fact had NOTHING to do with it except having to put up with high school kids teasing her constantly, most likely for something stupid too like her accent.

thanks.

Honestly, change your cell phone number, block numbers, delete your facebook page and/or create a private page. I'm not saying shes bringing it on herself but she can take measures to make it stop or lessen the cruelty.

You are absolutely right girls should take some necessary actions at the time of bullying, and should tell to their parents about such things or should notify to cyber crime assistance. This is the big lesson for all those girls to take a quick action against such cyber activities or any other physical activities too.

Thanks

Hey buddy, you were the first one trying to trivialize this crime and make it the victims problem and then jump on us when we asked you why so ?

As for going anywhere, don't try to impress me, it won't work.. Just because you say you go to University means FA.. And if you are in class listen because you are obviously missing key parts of what they are telling you.

University and real life are quite different stories.

However I can tell I will never change your opinion.. It's set in stone.. Have a great life and hope you never lose a child of your own or have to comfort someone who just did..
