That's in the article too...How was the mother supposed to know she had emotional problems?

So the girl goes around announcing she's "depressed" and has ADD?That's in the article too...
How was the mother supposed to know she had emotional problems? Yeah, that was a sick thing to do... but my mom would probably let me do the same thing...
That's in the article too...
So the girl goes around announcing she's "depressed" and has ADD?
Uh... emo.
They were friends of the family. The girl who died's family was even storing stuff for the other family. So the girl goes around announcing she's "depressed" and has ADD?

Sure.Help me out? Third time reading it and I can't find it.
The woman who created the fake profile has not been charged with a crime. She allegedly told the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department she created Josh's profile because she wanted to gain Megan's confidence to know what Megan was saying about her own child online.
The mother from down the street told police that she, her daughter and another person all typed and monitored the communication between the fictitious boy and Megan.
Megan's parents had been storing a foosball table for the family that created the MySpace character. Six weeks after Megan's death, they learned the other family had created the profile and responded by destroying the foosball table, dumping it on the neighbors' driveway and encouraging them to move away.
I agree with Donnie, Sneakiechick, and Livvy.
ADD & ADHD are real diagnosis. Unfortunately many people are not fully tested for ADD & ADHD and end up being diagnosis'd with it when they don't have it. Just because it is over diagnosis'd doesn't mean that ADD or ADHD are not real medical disorders.
On a different note, there is a lack of compassion in this world. Don't be the type of person that adds to that sad fact. Words can build a person up or tear a person down. Watch children of parents with differing parenting styles and you will see how evident that is. It is the same for us in our dealing with people - face to face or even on this forum posting to one another. We can all act like hard-arses - like we don't care at all what people say to or about us, but the truth of the matter is - is that words do effect us. And how well we are in our own skins has a lot to do with how we take what other people say. We are all at different stages of maturity, development, going through certain hardships, etc. ...
... all I am saying is that we all need to think a lot more before we speak.
It is that whole 2 ears, 1 mouth thing.
She disobeyed the rules of Myspace, and caused her own death. She has nobody to blame really, other than herself.
If my kid had mental problems, I wouldn't share it with the neighborhood... Not even friends...They were friends of the family. The girl who died's family was even storing stuff for the other family.
And this would be the lack of compassion I was speaking about. Are you so perfect Dodge that you have never disobeyed a rule? She disobeyed the rules of Myspace, and caused her own death. She has nobody to blame really, other than herself.
I'm pretty sure people could still figure it out on their own.If my kid had mental problems, I wouldn't share it with the neighborhood... Not even friends...

I know I am not perfect. I am far from it. And it is because of this knowledge that I can be more thankful and also more forgiving of others and not so judging.
I feel bad for the girl's family. I find the MySpace joke on the girl horribly cruel. It is a shame that being so insensitive isn't against the law - but that is a fortunate thing for most people in this world.
I am not saying that I don't agree with some of your perspective here, but your delivery Dodge is highly insensitive.
The article says that her parents knew that she had an account so they must have been OK with it. Had an adult not pulled some tasteless prank, she'd more than likely still be here.
...How? You're thirteen... they all act like they have mental problems...I'm pretty sure people could still figure it out on their own.
Obviously being sensitive just leads you to commit suicide on MySpace? It's not entirely the girls fault, but she shouldn't of been on MySpace and its partially HER parents fault aswell if she was STILL monitoring her online communications but didnt seem to see any problem with it... how is that right, too?
It's not. Everything is wrong with this scenario... but all the other mom was trying to do was find out what that girl was saying, and the mom wasn't actually the one to get on MySpace and call the fucking kid fat.
I'm not 13. And you're stereotyping....How? You're thirteen... they all act like they have mental problems...
