Sorry, I couldn't help but find it somewhat funny that the news reports I read that it was noted that the gunman was not thought to be linked to an Islamic terrorist group.

I guess we're past the old days when people were just plain nuts.

Actually it was too reported that he was a teaparty member, then the media revoked it. But they did manage to plant a seed ;)

And to previous posters, this man does not represent law abiding gun owners. Hes a nutcase.

If there had been a person with a gun in the audience with shooting experience their might have been less dead
I myself do no have a gun but only because of financial reasons I shot expert in the Marines 4 years in a row and had Range High trophy 4 years in a row.
I also would have tried to attack him however not being there I cannot say I would have had a chance to but If I did I would have attacked him.
if the mass of people would attack him all at once there would have been less dead but you would have to put your life at steak and most people are not willing to do that
it makes sense to preserve your self
I have had tons of training on this and am 4th degree black belt and a little insane lol

There were clearly posted signs "no firearms allowed on the premesis"

Worked well for 99% of the people that were there. But won't stop a determined criminal nutjob.

Yep.

They've also released that he had his apartment booby trapped with some type of a bomb or fire type device and had some sort of device that was making a loud noise going off, in order to potentially cause a noise complaint and get police over there to break in and set off the bomb and have that be happening while he was at the theater.

I was wondering when that was going to come about
Talk about insane you copy cat a person that's not real, how ingeniousness(sarcasm) is that, but look what it did to Heath Ledger.

its so sad!

i want to know WHY a 3MONTH OLD and a 6yr old were even there!?

I'm just going to say this one bit, and then I'm not going to go back and forth with this because I don't feel like causing forum drama... but who the hell cares that parents had young children there? The movies are supposed to be a fun & safe place to enjoy yourself - at ANY time of the night, for ANY age.

And I'm not just picking on you - I've been seeing this everywhere and it's BS.

I care.

A three month old baby at the movies?

These are the same kind of dip sh** parents who let their kid scream and holler during the f****** movie.

And chances are the six year old would end up running up and down the isles.

Hypothetically speaking, the only reason why I wouldn't open my mouth at these parents is the fact that if I were carrying, it would be illegal LOL

So how did this become about bad parenting and not the lunatic who changed those peoples lives forever? Remind me...

Kind of like when someone tells you they have a headache and they can't make it go away.

Give em a kick in the gonads and they'll forget all about the headache LMAO

If a 3 month old gets out of the house and gets run over by a car, do you blame the driver of the car or the parents?

Anyway you cut it, kids don't belong at a midnight movie showing.

Perhaps not, but is the threat of a crazed gun-man your reasoning as to why they shouldn't be there?
