Socialists won in a democratic election, surely it's the minority who should give way and move if they dont like it?

Good point. But I think most Americans don't really know what socialism (or Obama) is really about. All they know is it's something to do with "Change". If they truly knew what it meant for them and for companies and for jobs, most would be up in arms about it. At least, that's what I think and believe from personal experience and talking to other people.

I wouldn't worry, Obama is no where near being Stalin, unlike what most Republicans seem to think, you dont have to worry about being sent to collective farms just yet.

Because a socialist government is a violation of the United States Constitution, which stands above all--it guarantees Americans (unlike Europeans) certain freedoms such as the freedom from tyranny of government. That is the government should not be permitted to take from me to give to others or visa-versa. The problem with that type of government is that it encourages slovenly behavior and eventually, it collapses in on itself--its happened for centuries but socialists are so blinded by ideology they never learn the lessons of history. Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Mussolini, Hussein and virtually every dictator throughout history were all socialists--they all believed the state was more powerful than the individual and that the individual should yield to the power of the state. So while you people in Europe are free to give all your freedoms over to the state, the founding fathers here provided a Constitution that was designed to prevent tyranny from occurring (in fact, it was the failures of Europe that spawned the new government of the people, by the people, and for the people). Unfortunately, liberals and socialists in this country have been successful in putting enough liberal judges on the courts that the Constitution and individual rights have been trampled in deference to the state to the point where we are now a government by and for the government, not the people. And like the fascists in Germany, liberal fascists have gained control of the press to the point that all you get are lies, mistruths, and half-truths. But the failure of socialism is a foregone conclusion. We only need wait until there aren't enough tax payers to support the tax users which again is a foregone conclusion in any socialist form of government. The government can continue to take from hard working people only for so long until they eventually say enough is enough.

Socialism isn't a buzz word, its a fact--and you've seen first hand the last few months or so how devestating an impact social policies can have on an economy--like giving loans to people who can't afford it! :rolleyes

You want to see a really fucked economy wait until Obama raises taxes on businesses (if he does). My bet is he doesn't do that despite the fact all you moore-ons voted for him precisely because you thought he'd raise taxes on the "rich" and the businesses while making your lives peachier! That and all these government pensions--add to that national healthcare. I really don't know where all these moore-on liberals think we are going to get the money to pay for all of this. In 20 years, the worker to retiree ratio will be 3 to 1 (its like 11 to 1 now). You don't have to be an economic wizard to figure that out. There is going to be a lot of suffering in this country coming and its not going to be the rich--the liberal policies will harm most those they claim they are protecting--the working middle class.
