The general consensus from Spurs fans is that while Harry did a good job, they blame him (and the media to a certain extent) for Spurs's collapse last season. Disloyal etc when the England job was being mooted for him, rather than focusing on the job in hand, which I guess is true to a extent because Spurs were shocking from about February onwards and despite finishing 4th, didn't qualify for the Champions League because Chelsea won it, they should have never ever got into that position from being 10 points clear of Arsenal.

Financially Harry spent £37.5m in January 2009 (his first transfer window), recouping nothing.
09/10 - £28.5m. Recouping - £25.25m
10/11 - £18.5m. Recouping £1m
11/12 - £5.5m. Recouping - £20.5m

Total spend - £94.5m. Recouped £46.75m
Net spend - £47.75

Owners dream :D

To be fair, that doesn't take into account the 100,000,000 they will get for the eventual sales of Modric, Bale, Defoe, Van Der Vaart, Huddlestone etc :D

Harry for Swansea wouldn't be good, but in a dream world he would be my #1 choice.

So word is now that Huw Jenkins spoke to Laudrup 10 days a go, (Huw has been on holidays for about a week) and that the announcement is expected on the weekend. Laudrup isn't even in the country yet. Huw is speaking to his staff and having various meetings at the Liberty today. Not really expecting something official to come today.

Everyone seems to think Moyes to Spurs is a good match, can't say I know enough about that to agree or disagree.

One thing I did want to bring up, though is that for a start, I've been really pleasently surprised with the positive feedback from fans of other teams on appointing Laudrup as manager. I've barely heard a negative opinion (bar Cardiff fans) about him. People on Twitter are so quick to sprout negative, silly, nasty comments just because they can and football is no exeption. But the majority think it's great for Swansea and the Premier League that he (probably) is coming. I know a bad run can change opinions like the wind, but for now let's just enjoy it!

Secondly, I've been reading a bunch of posts from Liverpool fans saying they wern't happy with the Rodgers signing in the first place but now that we're getting Laudrup whilst they get him, and we've scooped up $7M for the pleasure, we've got the better end of the bargain. Now, Laudrup hasn't managed a game in the PL yet, and BR hasn't managed one game for Liverpool. The opinions are a bit hasty, but one can't help feeling a certain way. My memory is crap, but I'm sure we have some Liverpool fans here, right? What do you make of this? Do you know anyone who feels this way?

How nice of the Premier League to have a round of games on my Birthday (November 27th) as well as a guaranteed three points at home to West Ham.

I don't think we've played the first game of the season at home since 2006, we're playing our bogie team QPR away this time. It would really get the season off to a good start if we could get a win from there, I would settle for a draw, though.

Finish our season off with Chelsea, United, City then Fullham. I REALLY hope by then we're safe and don't have to rely on getting points from those super tough fixtures..

:D

It's far from misplaced optimism, by then West Ham will have settled into a mid table slump, just happy to not be in too much trouble. Those are the games you look at at the start of the season and say 3 points.

Phil Brown (former Hull manager who wasn't very good at all) has called Andrea Pirlo homophobic for not wanting to play in the Premier League.

A dictionary might be a good place to start, Phil.

Phew!!!!!!! An over-rated player, namely David Beckham is not going to be part of the GBR Olympic football team. The last thing we want is that player getting all the attention to himself and not getting too far....
