Real Football (Soccer to you Yanks) Thread

Chelsea win the Champions League after a penalty shoot out win over Bayern Munich. Awful game for 80 minutes, then Bayern scored before Drogba equalised two minutes from time. I suppose in a way it was meant to be given Robben missed a penalty two minutes into extra time, then Chelea win the shoot out.

A big loser here are of course Spurs, who will not go into next years Europa League despite finishing fourth. Anyway fuck them, they bottled third.

Drogba is leaving Chelsea. Talk about leaving on a high. Personally, I would have done all in my power to try & keep him, because he is probably only second to Rooney and Van Persie in the Premiership, even at 34. But I suppose the managerial situation makes it impossible for him to make any positive decision towards Chelsea.

Liverpool are looking at Capello. I don't think that will happen, but they couldn't do much better if they landed him.

Van Persie isn't signing anything at the moment. I'm not worried. (In opposite land).

He's denied he said it, but I think he'll go (reportedly to China where he'll get a huge payday) but he is Chelsea's best big game player, even still. So he still should be kept if possible.

Van Persie wants to wait until after the euro's to sign a new deal, or at least discuss one. That or join Man City (3/1 to do that if you're a gambler)

We've been through why Suarez can't play with Drogba. Drogba plays for himself, meaning if £250,000 a week in China is on offer, he's off. Plus Anelka's there.

Jose Mourinho has signed a new contract at Real Madrid.

EDIT : Chelsea have officially announced Drogba's leaving, no real surprise.

Honestly, I hate how China are throwing money at these big players to try and get them to play over there. NOBODY GO THERE, K.

Was out sailing all weekend so missed the Championship Play-Off Final as well as the Champions League Final. I managed to pick up signal long enough to see who the winners were, disappointed for Blackpool but I was pretty much a neutral for the game. So glad Chelsea won, though. Gutted Drogba is leaving but I really hope this makes Torres step-up. Rumour mill is running at full throttle it seems.
