Evolution is the only rational explanation for the existence of life. Like Dawkins said, even if we believed a superhuman entity created the Universe, evolution is the only logical way that being could have come about.
I got tired of this debate when I was sixteen, though. Since I don't think the word 'god' makes any sense and all that exists is physical reality, debating whether nonsense nonsensically made us or whether it occured through physical reality is not much of a debate at all from my point of view and I'm certain to learn nothing but to be reminded of my own dislike for mystical thinking.

You don't need to as it's all ready explained on Wikipedia. Haven't they all ready created the building blocks of life in the lab, things like amino acids and such?

I was told in elementary school, without doubt, it was the second option, although if you have not noticed, I like to question.

Evolution is not random at all. Its a carefully measured process of change determined by non-random environmental stimuli.

Admittedly I'm not a expert on this, but I can tell you at one point in time, they were teaching that evolution was based on the theory that those organisms who just happen to be best suited for change were the ones that survived the change in their environment. Yes it was random! Adapting to the environment, ie changing to meet environmental pressure was really not part of the evolution equation.

Maybe that teaching changed at some point to include adaptation as part of evolution. I'm not sure.

"Survival of the fittest" isn't always applicable to evolution.

It all changes as time goes by and modified to suit.

The earth is flat...no it's round. This and that is good for you....no it's not. etc etc etc.
The more we know the more we don't know. What is the matrix?

Unlike dogs and cats, birds do not have different "breeds". They are actually all different species. This means that a Scarlet Macaw is a totally different species than a Blue and Gold Macaw. So, yes, they didn't evolve from a common ancestor.

if species can interbreed they have a common ancestor....all macaws can interbreed and have done in captivity...as have lions and tigers.......hence evolution

I mean, I know it happens over millions of years but surely scientists would be able to find some proof, however minor that it's still happening?
