I do know about "brainwashing" gay children in thinking they are not...a curable desease.

Dumb and untrue. Many of my friends were taken to juvinile programs. People showed up in the middle of the night and took them there. many people will alledge they were taken there aginst their will. Little do they know they have no will, they are a juvinile. Also, many kids in juvinile programs lie and tell everyone they were tortured and beat to get their parents to withdraw them. Doesnt happen, nut naturally they want out and want their freedoms back. Also, they can walk out at age 18.

While I understand that many kids have behavioural issues, it does not give anyone the right to abuse them mentally or physically to justify correction.. Two wrongs do not make a right..
Perhaps it explains why the program in closed by legal standards but I am sure little unsanctioned groups of vigilantes still run these concentration camps for kids.

Anyways, its the alternative to jail and gets your charges expunged. Most of them arent concentration camps, thats just what the kids say trying to wriggle their way out of doing their time.
Yes Mental abuse falls under an actual law and in most places it would certainly fall under bullying for kids..

As for Jail, this OP discussed "beat the gay" out of these kids to the Camps they are sent to be turned straight.. What's that got to do with breaking laws at their age ?

He probably listens and takes heed of every single rumours, regardless if they are true or not
Probably, he bought in to some propaganda and went off to spread the word all over the internet. I think it's terrible that parents would send their children to these programs, but I highly doubt these children are actually TORTURED in these camps. Brainwashed sure, but not TORTURED.

Teen Challenge, is homosexuality is not a disease that needs a cure. It is psychologically damaging to force children into a mold that doesn't fit.
It was disingenuous to single out Mormons. This is not a Mormon problem. It is a cultural and religious problem in general. The GLBT community has seen much change in the last thirty years. Hopefully in another twenty they will be fully accepted members of society.

I think the OP is bias but has some truth in the information.
If you read the Wiki information you will find the camps have been running and are now only recently closed..

Been to a Teen CHallenge actually, one of the programs on the list i graduated from. Super christian but its not bad, its a easy program.
Overall was it a helpful experience? Are you gay or did you meet any gay teenagers while there? Were they told their homosexuality is a sickness? Not trying to pry into your business, just curious.
Teen Challenge is a drug program, not for gay people.... I got sent there when i was like 14 for a couple possesion charges I acquired. It was a long time ago tho.(6 years ago) I was there for 1 year. No christian will tell you being Gay is a sickness. Its wrong. Plain and simple. To the Christian standpoint. Being sick is something thats not in your control, and being gay is. (IMO)
Teen challenge doesnt accept homosexuals. Drug rehab is drama enough, adding homosexuals to the mix makes it a disaster. Causes Drama, fights, (The whole he looked at me in the shower thing).
Afterwards i went to a Juvinile bootcamp 2 years later where they did abuse, beat and not feed kids. they tied us to our beds if we were 'runaway risks' and we had to shit and piss ourselvs on our cots at night. Very nightmarish experience. But that place was shut down.
Then i went to this other Behavioral Program that was state funded. Wasnt too bad, but they didnt care about us Nearly as much as the Teen CHallenge staff did when i was in that program.

Teen Challenge is known around the SA therapy community as a program that helps with "life controlling addictions" and homosexuality is considered one of them, among the obvious (drugs, criminality, sex, etc).
When i was there we didnt have any. I am aware the female programs will accept them, because 90% of female drug addicts are bisexual or homosexual.
In the male program i was in, we didnt have any. The TC program i was at did not accept homosexuals, people convicted of violent crimes, (Rape, attempted murder etc..) Some might, but ours didnt.
