I have a pretty strange stance on this kind of stuff with addictions
My mother smoked a lot but quit in her 60s' and lived into her 90's
I think a lot has to do with genes
because I have seen many people give up addictions to booze or smokes in their 50's and die within a couple years
If that makes no sense then me tomorrow![]()
Thanks DanaGood luck
I knew one of you gals here did it and I couldn't remember who it was. Congrats to you.
Question... cold turkey or Champix like I'm using? ( man do I have some stories to tell about that stuff )
ThanksCongrats and good luck.
Mrs. Stinky... um.. I mean Mrs. Guyzerr surprised me this morning and said she had her last smoke. She bought a box of patches yesterday and I didn't even know. She has quite twice before so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.I trid champix and it ended up giving me the blues. The side effects can be like that for some people i was one of the lucky ones.
Im on patches only a month more of them to go and im finished!! :willy_nilly:
I can stand to be around smokers i actually enjoy the smell of the smoke itself BUT if someone walks past me once they have had one or a sit near an ashtray i feel like heaving that smell is rancid!
you can do it Dude!! more power to ya! and thanks![]()
Thanks porter.goo d luck Guy
i quit 14 years ago using the patch, fist off i had a stong patch, wore it for a week, then switched ot for a lower dose patch, then after another week took it off and never touch a smoke since
the real craving went after about eight weeks, but to be honest i still miss it, you just learn to live without
i still miss smoking - i miss the mechanics of the draw the cool smoek the whole action of smoking, tbh if the cost came down and they discovered a guaranteed quick fix for lung cancer I would start again
Thanks fuzz....congrats and keep it up! i tried chantix about 2 years ago but had some serious side effects with it!
I didn't read the whole thread, so I apologize in advance if I say something that's already been said, LOL

Congrats! I also didn't read the whole thread, lol, because I'm a copycat, but it's awesome what you're doing.
I hope you're having an easier time than some do, like my mother. I've never smoked in my life and don't plan on so I can only imagine what you're going through.
try to see if you can rent an ozone machine from a fire restoration company Guy
It should do the trick
My brother and sister in law took that drug and they too had some serious issues with the dreams and a couple other side effects.
That was about 5 years ago. Did I mention about people dieing after quitting smoking and booze? Yeah I know I did. He is 70 years old and was a lifelong alcoholic and smoker. He has terminal brain cancer
I tell ya I aint gonna stop drinking![]()
If it makes you feel any better on of my old roomates grandfather was told at the age of 50 to quit smoking and drinking or he would be dead in 2 years. He was an old boy farmer. He would close the bars at night and be up at dawn. He died in the field............... at the age of 85
