maybe not, he has a couple things going for him, one is that he's an exciting fighter that always leaves it all in the ring, Dana loves those guys and gives them lots of chances, and the other is that Asian fighters SUCK and that Dana needs all the halfway decent ones he can get his hands on if he is ever to expand to Japan, they'll give guys like Greasy Akiyama and Kid Yamamoto as many chances as they possibly can.

hmmm, I see your point, but keep in mind too, Dana's been on a cutting spree, there's so much freaking competion out there now-a-days, he can afford to be picky / do the, 'three strikes and you're out'! game...(whether we think his choices are right or not). And though I do agree that Akiyama is an exciting fighter, I really don't know how much of an asset Dana thinks he would be by keeping him on if he lost again???... Considering the fact that Sexyama is almost 36 years old.

Good point, I think he'll get one more chance if/when he loses to Nate, His career is probably over if he gets cut though, DREAM won't be around much longer and he was having problems with them back when he used to fight for them anyways, Strikeforce might take him though, I dunno, I hope he can catch Nate with something. Speaking of cutting sprees I can only hope that Joe Stevenson gets cut ASAP, and Tyson Griffin too lol.

I actually think Strikeforce would take Akiyama if the UFC dumped him. I like Strikeforce, not just because Hendo's with them now but because as an organization, they have alot of potential and alot of decent fighters. And I absolutely love that they've included female fighters in their organization.:)

Oh god, lol, you're telling me. I was expecting Joe and Tyson to be gone ages ago. But nope, they're still there.
...Same for Tito as well - wtf?

Well, I know he absolutely doesn't deserve another chance, but I like that Tito is getting one, anyone who says the the UFC doesn't take care of their fighters needs to look at the Tito Ortiz situation, despite the fact that he can't get it done in the ring anymore and he has publicly trashed Dana White time and time again they STILL give the guy opportunities, Tito did a lot for te UFC in the early days and they are more than repaying him for it, also look at Alessio Sakara, he falls ill literally MINUTES before his last fight and they had to cancel it, yet they still paid the man and his opponent in full for a fight that never happened, anyone who says the UFC doesn't take care of it's fighters can GTFO.

I like some things about strikeforce and hate other things about it, they have a lot of great fighters but their matchmaking is sometimes ridiculous, and I hate that they're briinging in guys like Herschel Walker and considering bringing in Dave Batista, they have elite fighters they shouldn't make a mockery of their Org by putting these freak shows in place of them.

I forgot about Sakara. Wow.

I personally think Dana takes care of who Dana wants to take care of - fuck everyone else.;)

The whole Tito, Dana and Jenna thing was pathetic, lol. So much fail.
...With that said, I do agree that Tito did alot for the UFC; in fact, I thought he was excellent back in the day and my opinion of him only heightened when I saw him coach on TUF, but that's where I think he belongs...( coaching and marketing his MMA products), not a fighter in the UFC. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I had a feeling that was going to happen, nobody gave Bigfoot any respect coming into this, I've been saying since he fought Ricco Rodriguez that Antonio Silva was a LEGIT top 10-5 heavyweight, and also it's been clear to me for quite some time that Fedor isn't the same fighter he once was, he's lost a considerable amount of muscle mass and has looked wilder and shown less technique with every fight, I'm not sure if I chalk it up to Fedor being past his prime, or to Fedor coming off of steroids since he now has to undergo testing but he's definitely not the same guy, he made the right choice to retire. Also I'm happy for Kharitonov, people in the states don't know this guy but he is a fucking KILLER, I've been a huge fan of his for a long time and have been wanting to see him fight Arlovski for YEARS now, one of my dream fights took place last night :)

How can anyone not love Sergei though, his fights are incapable of ending in anything other than unspeakable violence. If that had been a REAL FIGHT between him and Andrei and not a SPORTING EVENT I bet he would have just kept pounding Andrei's head into the ground until it looked like a pile of bloody vomit.

Oh, I'm not saying anything negative about Sergei - I'm just saying that if this fight were in Arlovski's prime, Sergei would have had a very difficult fight on his hands.

Andrei was looking pretty sharp up until he died, the guy just can't take anymore punishment, for his own safety I think it's time for him to call it quits.

I agree.

It was much like Chuck Liddell's fight against Rich Franklin, he looked really good going in but you knew it was only a matter of time.

I liked Chuck, but boy am I ever glad he retired.
