He felt guilty: Was he really guilty?

Did he hurt somebody in the past that lead to his suicide?

Had he ever eaten Clam Chouder before this?

Was his guilt the result of somebody getting hurt?

Was his guilt the result of something he had control over?

Was his guilt the result of something he did?

Was his guilt the result of something he lost?

Was his guilt the result of sombody he lost?

Was his guilt the result of somebodies death?

Could he have prevented that death?

Did that person die while at sea?

Did that person die while eating clam chouder?

Did he break a promise?

Did he tell somebody he would shoot himself?

Did anybody he left behind know why he did it?

Is he married?

Was he married?

was it a mind control clam chowder that implanted false guilty memories into his mind, and forced him to dispatch himself by suicide? just kidding about that one,,,,

but anyway,
was the thing he was guilty about related to a person?
was the thing he was guilty about related to a thing?
has he ever served anyone else clam chowder before?
has he ever made clam chowder?
has he ever killed anyone before this?
has he ever killed anything before this?
was anything wrong with the chowder?

was the person he killed in any way related to why he commit suicide?
was the person he killed a relative?
did he have a sexual relationship with the person he killed?
was the person he killed a man?
did he have any living relatives when he killed himself?

is the way you presented the story purposely misleading to make this take forever?

some of these questions are dependent on other ones, so bear in mind that some of them are assuming either yesses or no's to ones above them.

so, he has killed both a person AND a non-person before this?

if he killed a person, was it related to something that person ate?
if he killed a person, was it related to clam chowder?
if a person died as result of his doing, was that person eating chowder at the time?
was the chowder the cause of death?

was the thing (if he killed a thing) he killed an animal?
was the thing (if he killed a thing) he killed a mammal?
was the thing (if he killed a thing) he killed a fish?
was the thing (if he killed a thing) he killed something that lives under water?
was the thing (if he killed a thing) he killed a plant?

is the way you presented the story purposely misleading to make this take forever? No the story is very important. It would be very difficult to ever understand the answer if you didn't get the whole story

hmm, so a man was killed, as well as some mammal.

was the mammal a pet?
if so, was it a pet of his?
of the person he killed?

the the mammal and man die at the same time?
was the thing that caused the death of the man the same as the thing that caused the death of the animal?

did he crash on a deseted island?
while on the island did he eat a man and his pet for food?
was he guilty about cannibalism?
were there clams on the island?

did the memory of clam chowder bring back the memory of killing a dolphin, which reminded him of the other victime, in order to survive on the deserted island, and he couldnt take all the remorse, so he pulled the trigger of the shotgun when pointed at him?

You guys are getting to a point where you are closing in on the answer, but still do not have the juice of the story
To understand the answer you have to understand the guy, what do you really know about the guy?
Besides random facts so far, I mean.. if you were to meet someone what are some questions you’d ask them to find out some info about them..

hey ryum -
maybe i was not clear when i asked, but i was assuming an animal (which you said was mammal here) is not the same as a human. thats why a little ways back i asked something about a 'non-person'. it was to differentiate between people and animals without you getting all vague on me :D

so anyway. with this in mind, did he kill an "animal"?

was he a 'cannibal' (as oposed to someone who just had one or two cannibalistic 'experiences') ?
did he just have a few cannibalistic 'experiences?
did he know the person he ate?
did he eat more than one person?

was the cannibalism that he was guilty of directly related to clams?

doh.. gotta go ill be back...

did the cannibalism happen on the island?
did he eat only 1 person?
did he eat only 2 people?
did he eat more than 2 people?
did he eat more than 10 people?

Because he was taking a cruise with his wife earlier, then the boat crashed, w/e, and he and the other passengers were stranded on an island, and his wife was very fragile and there was no food, and the survivors ate his wife becase she was dying anyway, and fed him his wife under the guise of 'clam chowder' or something, and he ate it to, and then he realised it at the reataurant and shot himself for it.
