Guys, I don't normally post stuff like this but it kinda hit home with living here in middle ga. Also with having my g/f's brother in Iraq... The Gratitude Campaign
Why not normally post stuff like this? These are the types of posts that actually help this world be a better place.Guys, I don't normally post stuff like this but it kinda hit home with living here in middle ga. Also with having my g/f's brother in Iraq... The Gratitude Campaign
My only problem with this is not everyone in uniform is fighting for our country. I wouldn't say thank you to anyone unless I knew they served!
You don't have to literally fight to serve this country. The men and women on the front line need the expertise of those that aren't on the front line for it to all work.My only problem with this is not everyone in uniform is fighting for our country.
What? I saw a news broadcast i dunno how long ago with a guy dressed in uniform infiltrate a funeral undetected, he was medaled up and proceeded to march as if he were some sort of veteran and knew these people. There is more than one case of this.Wha????? :wtf:

Maybe I'm confused? I thought that gratitude site was saying you should thank a soldier in passing because he's a soldier?I don't think that people impersonating soldiers is really what this thread is all about Dane. No offense meant to you in saying that.![]()
How about you err on the side of caution, and go ahead and give them a thank you anyway? For every one fake jackass, there's a million who really did.Sorry man. I don't mean to come off sounding rude. I give respect where it is due and I'm not saying soldiers don't deserve our thanks but you won't catch me telling a stranger thank you just because he's in uniform.
It's fucked up when people think they're automatically better than you because they're serving their country.I got the shit kicked out of me a few years ago by a bunch of squadie strangers in a pub, just because I was English and they were Welsh. Certainly wouldn't thank that particular bunch of dick heads simply because they are in the army.
He didn't get his ass kicked because they were in the army and he wasn't. He got his ass kicked because they were Welsh and he wasn't. They just happened to be in the army. It's fucked up when people think they're automatically better than you because they're serving their country.
So much for the spirit of gratitude in this thread.![]()
