My only problem with this is not everyone in uniform is fighting for our country.
You don't have to literally fight to serve this country. The men and women on the front line need the expertise of those that aren't on the front line for it to all work.

On that note - there are many people in this country that serve others everyday that never wear a uniform and also deserve a 'thank you'.

Soldiers are among my heroes.

But there are also everyday people out there that are making huge differences in the world as well that people never recognize. A 'thank you' is in order.

V - she is works everyday to help keep our cities safe. Do people thank her for her service? Or is it just her job. Look at Amy - working in an ER - look at how many lives she touches - they spit on her and call her names when they are drunk - ... how many times do people look her in the eyes and say 'thank you'?

Most of us all do 'something' to make a difference. But do most of us really feel thankful? Do we sincerely tell people . . . 'thank you'?

In 2008, I plan on making 'thank you' an even larger part of my vocabulary.

Sorry man. I don't mean to come off sounding rude. I give respect where it is due and I'm not saying soldiers don't deserve our thanks but you won't catch me telling a stranger thank you just because he's in uniform.

How about you err on the side of caution, and go ahead and give them a thank you anyway? For every one fake jackass, there's a million who really did.

I got the shit kicked out of me a few years ago by a bunch of squadie strangers in a pub, just because I was English and they were Welsh. Certainly wouldn't thank that particular bunch of dick heads simply because they are in the army.

It's fucked up when people think they're automatically better than you because they're serving their country.
