Perhaps but to the issue of children, you have broken the first commandment if you do not follow your God's teachings. You are supposed to emulate him and saving your child goes against the example that your imaginary invisible absentee Bible God gave you.

Sinner.

Yes i am a sinner .... but let God be the judge . You never seem to mention the ministry of Jesus ...You seem to be stuck in the old testament ... What do Jesus words mean to you ? Jesus never killed but saved lives .

Innocent people ??? If God judged them evil then he knows best . If the unrighteous are resurrected and reproved and repent and live then has he really Murdered them? None of his judements ever caused people to suffer. Do you know that these generations that were wiped out actually sacrificed their own children to other gods. There children suffered greatly in the hands of those people. God asked them to stop and they refused so they payed the penalty. Same as it is today ... God will once and for all cleanse the earth again and we know he will because His prophesies have always come true. Have you ever checked out the archaelogical evidence of the Bible ...its astounding but i guess thats all debatable too right .

Jesus Is Gods Son .... I have a son and im fairly confident that we are two different people . Its by no mistake that God gives these analogies so we can understand. As our children grow you hope that they take on your values and sometimes characteristics. Jesus represented His Fathers qualities perfectly. This is not rocket science guys. God recognised the need that humans had to try and relate to an unreachable God and sent his son to help us. What did the majority do (and still do ) to him, we persecuted him and killed him. He also sent his spirit upon those that believe ... To Gods glory Jesus Lives and so will everyone that puts faith in Jesus and follows his ways. Death is not something final to God like we understand it ... we have no power over it but everything is possible with God.

Some may interpret this as describing wisdom ...i believe it is describing Jesus in the spirit .

Proverbs 8:22-36
New International Version (NIV)
22 “The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works,[a]
before his deeds of old;
23 I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;
25 before the mountains were settled in place,
before the hills, I was given birth,
26 before he made the world or its fields
or any of the dust of the earth.
27 I was there when he set the heavens in place,
when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
28 when he established the clouds above
and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
29 when he gave the sea its boundary
so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
30 Then I was constantly[c] at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
31 rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.

32 “Now then, my children, listen to me;
blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the LORD.
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.”

John 14:23-24
New International Version (NIV)
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

And why not?
If you count the lives he murdered as o T God, he had a lot to make up for.

What part of Jesus' unworkable rhetoric would you like to discuss?

How about his stance on divorce.

Not no man put asunder.

Would you not seek a divorce if your mate beat you twice a week?

How about his self aggrandizing suicide.

Yes i am a sinner .... but let God be the judge . .

Quite the contradictory statement.

You say that God should judge yet you have already judged yourself a sinner.
Or are you just believing hear say and bible say. All hear say designed to make you feel guilty so that you need to suck up to God and his church and pay for your poor soul.
You have been conned

This Bishop is quite bright. You might listen to what he has to say in this regard.

I have given the only answers i can and anything beyond this point would be a desperate attempt to defend a God that doesnt need defending especially when even I ,a devout follower, find this issue hard to understand sometimes. My last word of advice on this issue would have to be to read the New Testaments and see that we have come a long way since the times of old .:)

Why can't you just answer the question? You're not putting forward a convincing argument at all, to say the least!

It would be a desperate attempt because there is no defense for genocide. You either have a good God or a genocidal God. You can't have both. I will probably never understand why some Christians are so willing to mar their god's reputation over a story that is clearly a myth. There was no global flood. There are whole civilizations that went through that period of time without missing a beat. Yes, there are local floods. But they are not sent by God. God did not send Katrina to punish the people of New Orleans. Nor has he sent any other floods. Stop accusing God of things he didn't do and admit the obvious. The bible should not be taken literally. Of course you are free to think of God as a genocidal tyrant if you choose. But why would you want to? It makes no sense to me.
