At work the "supported IT web browser is IE *" LOLOLOL

As soon as i got my own PC, i loaded a portable version of firefox with all my bookmarks, links and addons like stumbleupon and such... After that usb took a shit i just went ahead and installed FFox but because of the firewall and patient information regulations I cannot get my addons :(

for work like clocking in, SharePoint, and browsing and validating pages build on the intranet i use IE8 lilke a good man!
for browsing and anything else it is FFox.

At home, I use FFox and FW uses IE10 :lame

I had switched to Chrome for a while, and liked a lot of it, but was dismayed to discover that it was FULL of security holes and bugs. I have never in my life experienced so many inbound attacks and mal-ware as I did when using Chrome, and my browsing habits had not changed at all. I removed it and thoroughly cleaned my machine, and am back with IE and have had no issues at all.

What does everyone else use? I really don't like IE, but the differences aren't worth the risk of damage to me. I'm curious what those with far more knowledge of IT have to say.

I'm glad I saw this...I've been trying to clean my laptop up with no success, I'm using Chrome, I'm going to do what you did and see what luck I have.

Gotta love OTz...always some great helpful tips.:)

I first started using Firefox to test out the tabs. Was using IE6 and got tired of the constant 'repairs' and hitting the back button.
It's been good and I like the security addons that are available.

But for extra security, I always run FF from within Sandboxie.
I like the idea of whitelisting what is allowed to be run.
I haven't had any security issues since using Sandboxie.

Isn't Chrome one of Googles products?

I tried it and was not impressed and now if it is part of Google I would not touch it given Googles policy changes

I have been a longtime user of Firefox and I like it.

You can get extensions where it can access IE only sites.

Yup and Chrome profile's every site you go to so it customizes all the ads you see to your liking..

So how many porno site have been showing up on your screen lately as ads.. :24:

I use Firefox exclusively.. I added AdBlocker and that's about it.. Never crashes and never have any issues..

I love this feature :p there's nothing worse than adverts for things I have absolutely zero interest in. Whereas this way, at least I'm always looking at something I might be persuaded to click on.

Yeah I love this too. It's beneficiary for everyone. Keeps me more interested, keeps advertisers more effective, and chrome makes more money on the ads due to more clicks.

I use Firefox. I did download Chrome last week so I could scrobble from turntable.fm. Because apparently you can't do that with Firefox. It didn't work =/

I personally love Firefox cause I get NO Adverts.. Hence the AdBlocker... :D
