When did you start using the internet?

psh please the internet. like forever since i was like 5 and i think that was the same time that i came across my first porn sight. we used to put the stuff on disks and hand them out at school in later years. never quite knew were my parents thought all the hardned white stuff came form that was encrusted on a few of the keys. on another note it's really ackword to watch the kid that was so happy to get a geek squad job whipe the old dried up stuff off your computer when you bring it in. once i when this was happening i kinda couldn't take it any more and sort of smilled and let out a small laugh and he looked up and there was a breaf moment that he was confussed then it donned on him what was happening and he looked so pissed.

other than that mainly for imformation and research

there was nothing in the rule thing sent to me that said i couldn't tell this stroy and it is on topic time i started to use my computer and effects of it.

In the mid 90's on bbs's
I can remember getting my first hard drive at 10m and having to get rid of one floppy to put it in.
but for work "computers" having to change platters in the drives and being able to see the cores (little round magnets) on a memory board by eye because they were big 1/8" od donuts.

I think it was probably around 1998, when we got 56.6k dialup at home. My parents got a me a laptop to do school work on... so I did what any 16 year old boy would do and used it to play games and look at dirty pictures!

Oh I was rather young. Somewhere in 2002 I started using the computer, and around 2005 or so I discovered the great world wide web.
Been online since then. Wow, huge amount of time when you think of it.

In 2004.

I was just starting out as a writer and the writing course I was taking recommended that I join a writers newsgroup [no forums back then] if I wanted to get news about freelance jobs first [and fast]. What choice did I have?

More than a decade down the line I still don't know if I made the right choice [to start using the internet].

I remember AOL too well. That dial up sound was so annoying. I think I still have my AOL email. I started using the internet right before I went to high school. I think we bought a computer from QVC and I've been using computers ever since. I've learned so much from being online and learning with different programs, tutorials and books. Thank you internet lol.

I started really using the internet when I was old enough to get my facebook account.

Before that, I would play a few games online but I knew nothing of social media, forums, or much of anything for that matter!

I remember myself in the mid-90s laughing about people who was insanely wanting to get connected to the web.

By that time my mother used to buy me regularly an issue of PC Magazine that included a CD with loads of games and software so I thought it was useless connect to "that thing" called Internet and I used to disdain all the software in the CD that was aimed to surf the web or design websites because "I will never connect to the Internet..."

However, by the end of 1999 I was stuck with a PlayStation game and, tired to buy magazines and didn't find the workaround to complete it, someone suggested me that the solution could be on the web.

So that I got the Internet connection with the idea to finish my game, but when I open my web browser for the first time, the world changed and here I am :)

It's been so long, I can't even remember how and when I started using the Internet.
By the time I was born, the Internet had already existed. All I can remember is that I had already begun using it while I was in the primary school, I mostly used it for games and Neopets (Is anybody still playing it?). I still remember how I randomly came across Newgrounds and Arcade Town (I used to think it was Acrade Town) and spent most time on them.
Oh the memories.
