Sorry; I meant to include this. Studies have been made on identical twins born on the exact same day and time. It is interesting that they can demonstrate completey different personalities and life spans. Astrology does not hold true and has no credibility.

It is more power of suggestion. I worked with a young guy once that always flipped to the horoscopes every morning before starting work. He came in one day all cheerful and turned to the horoscope page and suddenly his face dropped. "I'm going to have a shitty day!" he said, and was depressed the rest of the day.

i used to look at newspaper horoscopes....i wanted to know if i was gonna get laid :24:
never found a correlation between them and my sex life, tho

I was mildly surprised not to find a thread like this already in this section, so if there is one please direct me to it...

We all know the long standing debate between creationists and evolutionists.

typically, the devout christians believe in the whole seven days deal. adam and eve. garden of eden. six thousand years ago, no more.

and then here come the scientists:
well, the earth is billions of years old. we came from the primordial soup. to the monkeys, then came cave men, then came humans, and then came the teenager at the laptop ( yes i skipped a few, deal with it).

so what do you think? is the world only six thousand years old, or did we come from monkeys? both ideas sound pretty absurd to me. but I'll put in my two cents later. I want to hear what youz guyz think first:

The idea that we come from monkeys is a gross misunderstanding of evolution. It was the religious fundies that were outraged at the idea of us, god's children, could have come from a lowly monkey! The shock! The horror! The outrage!

The ignorance!

The theory never stated, nor has never implied, that humans "come from" monkeys. What is says is that humans and all the great apes have a "common anscestor".

welll, yeah i know. that was what i pretty much meant, but i was very generally stating the basis for each argument.

Most early scientists who backed evolution were also Christians. Its hard to believe that we havent evolved at all. I think its silly to literally translate Genesis, and take the bible super literally.
