I sort of left this thread for a bit, and come back to a very productive discussion, in which you made some very good, entirely logical, sensible points regarding the issue. My mind sort of paraphrased it as:

“Oh, but there are white gangs too”

“Yeah. But they don’t count”

“Really, like, not even dangerous gangs like the Aryan Brotherhood, and the Hells angels? “

“Nah.”

Yes, we should all live in reality, but, that doesn’t mean we should subscribe to your reality, all you’re doing is making an extremely flawed and short-sighted viewpoint on the issue of race-related crime, and completely disregarding any facts that are in opposition to your viewpoint.

Anyway, back to the main question:

Although, I am still confused, because I thought this issue was properly addressed when he first brought it up.

There are other ways of explaining that. Actually, you cannot clearly say that poor blacks cause more crime than poor whites, rather, poor blacks get caught and convicted at higher rates than poor whites. There's a big difference there; in nearly every Western country in the world, including Australia, the UK and the United States, the Police are regulary known to over-police minority individuals and communities.

Maybe there's another question we can ask, which is why, statistically, that minority groups are more likely to be victims of crime, as opposed to whites. I don't think we'll have anyone here saying, "Oh, it's a cultural thing that they're victimised more"
