Re: Strangest thing you ever ate.

I'm not sure if it's strange but I ate dog chocolates once. It was my mum's boyfriend's dog basically and I was sat there and spotted them on the table and thinking they were real chocolates I started to eat them. They tasted funny I thought. Luckily they had no adverse effect. I didn't eat them all, my mum's boyfriend came in the room after two or three and told me what they were. We never did tell the dog.

I like Caviar, but the black kind not the red kind it ooks too much like fish eggs. I think the worst was horse meat! Nuff said. We were very very poor and I shudder to think of some of the things we ate. My dad liked piggled pigs feet but there are some things that I would have to be blinded to eat.

I did eat octupus once, wasn't bad, I have never tried Sushi, just am not interested but as someone said, probably with enough Saki ;)

Never tasted Caviar. I heard the best ones are expensive :ninja

Sushi: with enough sake as some says- you are right about that ( altho' I don't drink, i have tasted a sip )

And eat sushi with enough gari ( pickled ginger) to give your mouth a fresh taste per each sushi intake and if you can tolerate wasabi ( spicy green stuff) then maybe you'll be able to try it. It's not that BAD at all, imo ;)

There are some cooked stuff sushi btw :p

I did not know there was cooked Sushi, learn something new every day. I'm kind of a hypocrit in that caviar is raw but, for some reason that I like. Yes it is expensive I've only had it on cruises, as was the octupus.

Re: Strangest thing you ever ate.

I entered and won a local Fear Factor challenge once...

I ate cow brains out of a cup
I had to spit pig testicles across the room into a bucket for 5 minutes
and I ate the brains out of a sheep's skull, had to scoop them out with my fingers. The worse part was the skull fragments.

sushi is cooked. shashimi is raw. Sushi just means literally fish and rice....

Sushi (すし、寿司, 鮨, 鮓, 寿斗, 寿し, 壽司?) is a Japanese dish consisting of cooked vinegared rice which is commonly topped with other ingredients, such as fish or other seafood,[1] or put into rolls. Sliced raw fish by itself is called sashimi, as distinct from sushi. Sushi that is served rolled inside or around nori, dried and pressed sheets of seaweed, is makizushi. Toppings stuffed into a small pouch of fried tofu is inarizushi. A bowl of sushi rice with toppings scattered over it is called chirashizushi.
