Your answer reminded me of a story:
The old church just had the one door at the back where everyone exited after the church service. This old church everyone filed out with the front rows being the first to exit. Everyone was anxious to get to their lunch or afternoon plans and then they saw the old couple at the front of the line stop and speak to the preacher. The old man walked with a cane, from many years of hard labor, and his wife at his side she too hunched with age and being steadied by the old man. As they exited to the steps each of which was taken cautiously, the old man stops and bends to smell the roses growing on each side of the steps. As he does a comment is made behind him by someone younger and in a rush. He turns and smiles and responds, "It took me almost 70 years to learn how to do that."
