It really made me think twice about it after that conversation. I mean, I would feel absolutely horrible if I tried to compliment someone and they took it as an insult or some kind of personal dig. I've tried to at least tell people now "you should be proud" instead of "I"m proud of you." It's a shame, though, that our minds can be so warped that we can take a nice compliment and turn it in to something negative.

Yeah, that's sad when others take things differently even if another person means well. I guess that's where online communication is flawed given one is not able to see the facial expressions nor gestures of others writing it- there's misunderstandings that occur. Plus we all know we can't please everyone though due to difference in opinions etc. I guess it's when respect of the feelings of others come in then.

That's a good idea tho with changing it to "you should be proud" or maybe just use the thumbs-up smiley :)thumbup) :p

You made me curious :D What's the title of that thread?? I wanna read on it.

Oh God don't talk to me about running.

I've been attempting to do some running. It's not going well and after I finished last time, I threw up though I had just gotten over an infection which didn't help.

Oh Natasha, I looked up C25K. That's the website I've been using to help get into running.
Cool!!! It's a good program, actually. I never thought I would be able to run for 5 minutes straight, LOL I need to get back on it...I left off in week 4.

I found it really helpful. I'm still on week one and I think I might keep it that way until I move because the time free to run is a bit haywire at the moment. Once I've moved, I want to try and go through all the weeks.

See, I think it's harder on the treadmill b/c it's harder to fiddle w/ adjusting the speed whereas out in the real world I control my pace, not the machine. Everyone tells me once you get used to running it's addictive. I think they're full of shit.

That's what happened for me, I started running after awhile I became obsessed.
Started running like once every other day... Then that changed to everyday to twice a day minimum.
Much prefer running outdoors... Running in the rain is the best.

I haven't been running in a while, longest I can go now though is about 10 minutes straight on a treadmill
running out in the real world is a bit more tough
If I got back into running maybe I can build some better endurance

They are so incredibly different, Running outside and on a treadmill, I'm like usain bolt on a treadmill or elliptical compared to running normally.

Speaking of Jo9gging... my calves hurt every time i walk up and down stairs.

If your joints hurt its a case off them drying out, I suggest you take cod liver oil tablets...
If its muscle pains, up your protein intake... May wanna trying 5-10mins a day stretching also.

Best bet is to run on grass mate, I go jogging around the fields behind my house, it's a better surface and it's better for your feet! Running on solid ground can damage your joints and you tend to use more of your core muscles which can make you tired quicker! :)

^That reminds me, tracks are nicer too, when they're made of those compressed rubber bits. Running can really beat up your body.

And running on tracks there aren't little bumps and little uneven bits that you can role an ankle on...

I'd seriously consider taking up biking of some sort (mountain / road). Easier on the joints.

I use to be a decent runner, but that along with some other things have taken a toll on my lower back.
