I always find it funny when east coast people are talking about what they want to eat for lunch when I first get here in the morning.

A friend of mine across the pond like to tease me and our mutual friend by saying he's at happy hour when it's only noon here...Jokes on him though, I can grab a beer from my work fridge and join him. :D

that's so not fair... then again, I can remember times working from home with another job where I'd have a beer during the day. Hell, I remember having beers at lunch and then going back to work...I miss the job, I don't miss getting paid shit, but I miss the freedom and the ability to work from home... and a boss who let me do my damn job and didn't second guess me or look over my shoulder all the time.

Yes...6" Turkey sub from Subway...lotsa veggies, toasted, no cheese.

Ummm.... I see a lack of ham in that menu...

You have beer in your work fridge?? :eek

OK.. jealous. :(

Only time I got away with having a beer at work is when the VP decided he wanted one in the middle of a meeting and moved it to the bar downstairs.

I never said I made sense, Samsonite...but I'll try. ;) You see that smell was the smell of a freshly baked ham. The kind you have at Christmas or Easter the smell of which fills your home...nay...your very soul. Lunch meat ham just wouldn't do it justice. It would be like pissing in the face of the Mona Lisa...and trust me...people frown on that.

As for the last bit, it doesn't stop there! Friday we had some sweet tea vodka...which was...in a word...sweet.

...and yet I'm job searching...

I just read your OCD thread (and added a subscription to it, BTW) so now I understand your ham-based dilemma.

My condolences on your pork-related angst. :(

I wonder if that will make it into the DSM-V before it's published and distributed? I cannot possibly be the only one afflicted by this.

Hey girlie *hugs*

Thank you :)

HAHA! That's definitely one I'll remember! ;) Not that I had trouble avoiding the yellow or brown snow...it's the blue that really draws you in sometimes though, no? No...

I hope all is going well with you and the sweet little man!

I have to run out and get some lunch as my tummy has started to devour itself...it's getting very angry and I wouldn't like it when it's angry. :cool

Laters peeps! :D

Ham Related Angst Disorder

Category:
Impulse Control Disorder

Etiology:

Research has shown a strong biological component for this disorder, with environmental factors playing a role in the exacerbation of symptoms

Symptoms:

The primary symptoms include a powerful desire to procure and consume pork-based products, primarily honey-baked or glazed ham. This disorder may result in irrational behavior, such as agreeing to attend family holiday celebrations or claiming to be only “kinda Jewish” to one’s Rabbi.

Treatment:

Prescribed medications have a limited effectiveness (basically, until the user regains consciousness). The only effective remedy to this disorder is its satisfaction through safe means. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the sufferer be left alone within 10 miles of a “Honey Baked Ham” store.

Prognosis:

With the holidays fast approaching, this condition will see its zenith in numbers affected. It is hoped that those impacted will take the proper measures.
