She was blind with diabetes for the last few years. I hadnt seen her for a while, and when I saw her in June, I had to tell her who it was saying hello.
She got all teary and said "Give us a shmuzz" (her word for kiss)
My mum was the baby, and I was her only child, so all Vals side is the only family I have.
(fuck, now I'm tearing up again).
Even with all her grandkids, she remembered my kids every Christmas.
I just hope I can get time off work to fly to Sydney for the funeral.
OK.....enough.

Have you tried Jetstar? I get emails from them almost every day telling me about sales they've got on. I don't open them because it only adds to the homesickness, but they appear to be having sales often.
