I was thinking of making some soup for him, or at least chicken and dumplings for dinner 
Chicken & Dumplings!!!! I love that!!!! I wish I could make dumplings that actually taste good. My mom & Grandmother could, but I never got the recipe.......
I normally cheap out with the Bisquick dumplings, but my step Dad has since given me his recipe for them... purty good I'll float it over net space to you
Would you? I'd be in your debt..... They made them w/roast pork & sauerkraut... I cannot stand sauerkraut. I am a bad Czech.... I'd have to load it up w/sugar....
I love pork roast in sauerkraut. I am not a huge fan of sauerkraut but the flavors mix so well and served with mashed potatoes is sooooooooooooooooooooo good.

I make it once or twice every winter. I make it in the crockpot. Most of the kraut gets thrown out but the roast absorbs the tart and makes it tasty.
FML... .the server I spent all day yesterday and a good chunk of the night getting configured for backups died overnight.
