Glad to hear. Personally I find it American policies about certain things I have a problem with, not American people in general. Sure, some American tourists are rather annoying with their belittling attitude to our country but generally I like to be hospitable to them and show them what is so great about our country. I'm sure Ron can tell you how much he enjoyed it over here and I was only too happy to share our culture with him!

That's exactly what the Danes say.

I've met some pretty cool Yanks all over the world. I'm not generalizing all of them into the arrogant stereotype. But with a country with so many people, you are going to get a lot of great people, and a lot of not so great people.

When I lived over there, I heard about it with everyone I talked to.

Maybe they liked you because you weren't a dick like most American tourists I noticed while I was in Europe.

Or perhaps people tend to congregate around others who share our beliefe system. There are a lot of people I work with who have terribly different views than I do, but they think I agree with them because I just nod and smile when they go on their tirades.

People like that just piss me off. In our defense, they are a personality type that seems to transend nations though. I think they all deserve to be waterborded! :eek :jk

I do the same. I can't be bothered to waste my time with people that are critical and complain all the time and have no inclination of being part of the solution. The just want to complain about others. If they spent half the time that they spend complaining and being critical, maybe all the things they wanted changed ... WOULD BE. *Sorry for the soapbox speech ... one of my pet peeves ... LOL!
