US Troops overseas: Is this needed anymore?

It's funny. Everyone seems to be saying it's about security but the government is saying it's about helping out. Either everyone here is one step ahead or one step behind.

I didn't read page two but I have to emphasize the fact that fear is not peace. I'm no pacisifist but the point is, no one is going to blow up your house. You might as well live in a cave on the moon if you're that worried. But lets way the options. Many Americans would like to make the lives of Iraquis a living hell just for false safeness.

But lets put the world on hold fer you America.

And the most evident and essential point on the issue is military technology. Which I won't even begin to ellaborate on because, well, it's self-evident.

I know much more about the US military than you ever will.. I talk to high ranking US military officers all the time. They are constantly come into my building all the time. And we have social drinks with them every two weeks.

And guess what I learn from talking to them. There's millions of dollars being spent on research to replace humans with machines on the battle field.

I'm surprised the Danes allow the the Thule Air Force Base in Greenland. Americans are quite disliked by the majority of Danes. Though I would assume this base was established due to the Cold War when relations were much stronger than they are today.

When I lived over there, I heard about it with everyone I talked to. All American foreign policy is ridiculously unpopular over there. And the people are not like as much as other nations. It differs were you go in Europe, and sometimes where you go in a certain country.

Maybe they liked you because you weren't a dick like most American tourists I noticed while I was in Europe.

So you admit it's alot about revenge?

A military presence in Iraq isn't going to stop other terrorists in other countries, let alone the ones in that country.

Imo you can't keep troops overseas just because you fear that pulling them out will be the cause of launched attacks. Always in fear of something.

Glad to hear. Personally I find it American policies about certain things I have a problem with, not American people in general. Sure, some American tourists are rather annoying with their belittling attitude to our country but generally I like to be hospitable to them and show them what is so great about our country. I'm sure Ron can tell you how much he enjoyed it over here and I was only too happy to share our culture with him!
