Well there you go, it's a clear cut case of self defense. The is absolutely no way possible to have an injury and be the aggressor.

If it can be shown that Zimmerman gave Martin reason to fear for his life, and Martin was defending himself which put Martin on top of Zimmerman beating the crap out of him (Zimmerman), and then Zimmerman drew his guns to shoot Martin, Zimmerman can fry, and I don't believe the law will protect him.

If the "Stand your ground" law means that you can instigate a fight, and then use your weapon to protect yourself, that law should be repealed IMO.

The stand your ground laws are very clear about not starting the altercation.

We just had our stand your ground laws updated here in PA to not only include your home, but your car or any other place you might be. They make it very clear that if you are engaged in any criminal behavior the law does not protect you. And that includes starting a fight or altercation.
You no longer need to try to flee, but you can't be the cause of the confrontation. That would just be stupid....

One could argue that if Zimmerman ran after Martin, he could be the "cause" of the confrontation.

No matter how the investigation goes, I have little doubt that if Zimmerman has any ties to his fathers assets, his father is cutting them because Zimmerman is going to lose BIG time in civil court. Added the notoriety to the case, and although Zimmerman isn't the one dead and not in jail, his life is pretty much over.

I am a responsible gun owner and as such hold myself to a higher standard than the rest of these fuck-tards. It's idiots like Zimmerman that will lead to tougher gun laws.

Zimmerman had a legal pistol that he had a licensed for and was allowed to carry


if he felt like he was in bodily danger or if Trayvon went for his weapon, can you really blame Zimmerman for using a pistol for its intended function?

This is where I cant stress enough about more restrictions with concealed weapons needing to be in place.
An example I have given prior.
Lets say some guy calls my girl friend a no good whore.
I beat his ass...he reaches in his coat then shoots me.
Had the pistol been on his side..I would have not have hit him..rather would have called him a pistol packing puss..to put the gun in the trunk and lets fight like men.

Had Martin known Zimmerman was packing none of this would have happened IMO.

If a man is carrying a gun, he should know better than to instigate an altercation, which is what calling your girlfriend a whore would be considered.

Out of all the states I've lived in, North Carolina handgun laws are pretty much common sense, AND you are required training before the carry permit is issued, unlike some other states.

I feel bad for any defendant on trial and John is on the jury.

Their case would be solved and the verdict in before going to trial

I guess that should be expected though from somebody living in what used to be the wild west
