well yeah the media has an invested interest in making Tray Tray seem like a little angel

"Tray Tray"?

We all admit we don't know the facts. You can't blame the dead boy for the publicity.

I feel the that the clowns in the circus could be open game, but you went a little to far in my opinion with your smart ass comment directed towards the victim.

Trayvon Martin from GEORGIA.

Your latent bigotry is shining brightly. I'm seeing shit loads of latent bigotry coming out in this tread from all these alleged "objective" "intellectuals".

Fox News's Michelle Malkin’s website Twitchy posted a photo it claimed was Martin in saggy pants, giving the finger — and later was forced to admit it wasn’t Martin. It’s still making the rounds on conservative, gun nut-job and white supremacist sites, anyway.

Carry on with your "objective" discussions.

Last nights local news they started on the story stating a man killed a young black man for looking suspicious

I kid you not

Pretty pathetic but then what do you expect in Detroit. over 2000 people showed up to demonstrate in support of Martin earlier in the day at Hart Plaza downtown. Too fricking bad they don't get as outraged when kids are getting killed in drive bys in town.

2000 people because of the tragedy?..or because he was black?
If because he was black..it just goes to show the nation has a long way to go on this racism stuff..IMO he would have shot the guy during the battle regardless of his color.

IMO racism would have died along time ago..the only reason it exists is because of these type situations ...people whining racism when there isnt...creating it so to say...fucking liberals..always out after a cause/ if there isnt one/ they create one.
I call it liberal euphoric disorder ;)

Edit
And to clarify..this is not against blacks..so you liberals dont twist it.
It is a statement of white liberal driven media news sources...and every moron liberal that soaks it up because of their "disorder"

This is a rather valid point in some cases. Having personally had the "race card" pulled on me ... on quite a few occasions when it wasn't warranted ... this sort of crap is really frustrating!

These liberal idiots are causing racial tension...what enjoyment does someone get from that unless they are a true sick fuck.

"racism needs to stop" is what they whine ...while their little fucking childish minds are creating it....which actually causes growth of it.

These people are a menace and cause alot of damage to the web of society of which we live in

That's real easy to say walking in caucasion shoes.

I do hope if there is a such thing as Karma and reincarnation, that every one who has ever uttered words of this nature returns to life as a black child born poverty in the housing projects of Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta - pick any metro area - and gets an opportunity to experience what it is like to actually be black and grow up on Americ'as mean streets.

Most people I have personally heard utter these words are white and came from an advantaged back ground and have no idea what life is like outside their lilly white perception of the world.

I was typing mine while you were typing yours apparently.

I did not intend to single you out Mercury - I was making a general statement about all the bigotry disguised as "objectivity" going on in this thread.

There is a lot of complete blindness demonstrated through this thread from the usual suspects. I'm not surprised - they have no clue or even remote awareness of their own deep seated hatred that is manifesting post by post.

Actually, my response quoted above would have been more appropriate in reply to TM's post above it.

I really can't say I'm surprised at all the demonstrated bigotry. It's pretty much par for the course for those type people.

Oh ok. Hehe.

I guess, speaking for myself, is that when I have TRULY have always lived with due respect to all types of people that it is really frustrating to be labeled a racist when I really am no where NEAR being one. I think this is true for a lot of people. I also think there are those who would deny it but really do have either racist or stereotypical thoughts (and they even might not realize it).

Actually ... stereotyping would be a good thread on its own. :humm:

Words have specific meaning. There is a difference in racism and bigotry - it's worth looking up and learning the difference. What is being demonstrated here is built up latent bigotry coming to the surface. A horrible murder of a minor like Trayvon Martin can bring out anger in communities that had previously been supressed. The black community sees what they percieve as yet another black male's murder about to be swept under the rug by an uncaring law enforcement system. Some whites, particulary conservative whites, are "outraged" because they see large numbers of black Americans taking to the street in protest. These mostly conservative whites get their buttons pushed by the appearance of former Civil Rights Movement leaders like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson at these protests. That triggers the latent bigotry we are seeing demonstrated all over the internet on discussion forums and in the comments sections after articles on the Martin case.

All of this conservative caucasion "outrage" pushes that bigotry to the surface and into words. It's exactly as you described Mercury - they most likely don't even realize it.

We do not know if this is murder yet. There is simply not enough evidence as of now to determine that it even was murder. We only have bits and pieces of what happened and the investigation is still going on. I find it highly odd that you accuse him of murder in light of this.

Dear lord take an introductory law class.

I wasnt going to get into the 'race' question, because the discussion is actually falling right into what 'race baiters' want. Hence. They are trolling using the race card to see who 'bites'

So to everyone. Think for a moment, if you are falling right into the actual 'race baiters' hands when you get sucked into the conversation.

But John. I must ask you. Why does it matter that the person in your hypothetical was black. Wouldnt it be just as hard growing up, latino or white, or asian, or whatever race poor in the housing projects of an inner city metro area growing up on 'mean streets'? Yeah. The problem isnt race, the problem is poverty, crime, lack of education, advancement opportunities... etc etc etc for whomever grows up in that situation. Not only black people. Just sayin.

Jay speaks the truth. I'm so pale I make casper look tanned. our family of five grew up in a 750 square foot house, we had particle board in our kitchen as the floor for a good chunk of time. I went to an at risk elementary school. Thinking back I was actually deprived the opportunity to go to a magnet high school BECAUSE I AM WHITE. My dad was a janitor my entire life and my mom was a house keeper. I had it just about as rough as any kid growing up financially. I turned out pretty well though I think. It's not about what color you were born, where you are born, or where you are raised, it's about HOW you are raised imo. That is all I will say about that.

My comment directed towards All Else Failed had NOTHING to do with race, but with the person killed.

Long story short, making a smart ass comment about the dead boy due to the three ring circus AFTER the fact and of no doing of the victim is plain out disrespectful.

As you've said yourself Jay, we don't know ALL the facts because no one was there.
