What is it it that you do for your paychecks, the greenbacks, moolah, cabbage?

Personally i work for my dad, I'm a digital telephone technician. We sell, install, program and maintain phone systems under the ESI brand. We also service pretty much anything to do with business/industrial, giving referals for residential customers to a friend of my dads.

We work on WIN, ESI, Comdial, Nortel, AT&T partners, Merlins, single line (4 line phones) you name it I've probably programmed on it.

My passion is installing the ESI, it's so fucking simple that a 10 year old with basic programming knowledge could do it.

I'm also a general laborer, we do the wire runs needed for phones and networks, we setup networks and maintain computers (sometimes).

Two days ago I was running a fish tape through a giant pipe from a phone room to outside just under the Dmarc (demarcation site, where dialtone is brought from the provider to the customers building), and had to dig a 3' deep, 3' wide hole to expose that feed pipe enough to get the wire through it.

Hehe - sounds good!
I'm currently at university, however do manage to keep a weekend job. I sell kitchens and bathrooms - as well as the CAD design service to go with it, for Homebase Ltd. Keeps the green stuff rolling in every month (thank god as uni isn't cheap!) and gives me something to do (commision :D). Enjoy helping people plan something their gonna be using everyday be it, kitchens or bathrooms.

At uni, I am studying Biomedical Science....plan to study medicine -sobeit specialise in psychiatry. It is all a plan, and working towards it.....sure that'll earn me more cashmoneys than selling kitchens.

xx

I believed everything you said except this. Good plan BTW.

I just made a change myself. I've been in government / defense forever, but now I've moved over into an only semi-government job, and there's nothing military about it.

I work for the water company. All of our tanks, valves, pumping stations, plants, etc... are in constant communication with a central control. I maintain that wireless telemetry system.
