A dental hygienist is going to tell u what they learned in dentistry school. Most dentists push fluoride.

Some interesting reading here too.

When Is Fluoride Intake Most Critical?

It is certainly important for infants and children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years to be exposed to fluoride. This is the timeframe during which the primary and permanent teeth come in. However, adults benefit from fluoride too. New research indicates that topical fluoride -- from toothpastes, mouth rinses, and fluoride treatments -- are as important in fighting tooth decay as in strengthening developing teeth.

Read more at the link above in red. I chose red because.... well.... you know..... :D

I trust WebMd when it comes to medical/health issues. That's where the above came from for those wanting to know about fluoride and children.
I still think fluoride in any amount can't be good for you but thats an opinion. And dealing doctors most don't know squat... LOL We told 5 doctors about my medical condition and they were stupefied.

I'm sure mine has fluoride in it, but I use only the tiniest ittiest bit of toothpaste. All it does is reduce the friction between bristles and tooth and freshens breath. When I brush my tongue, I add a little more. But I use a mostly clean, dry brush to do my teeth with.

They put fluoride in the water where we lived when I was younger. My mom says that's why I have white spots on my teeth. Oh, and they came into school and made us swish some fluoride solution. Bubble gum flavored. Nasty nasty nasty!

Yep. Everyone can read all the literature in the world by doctors, scientists, etc. on any subject, and still have a very different opinion.

I guess you should do what you feel comfortable with when it comes to fluoride. If all your teeth develop cavities and fall out by the time you're 40..... you'll have no one to blame but yourself. :D

I want to say someone at the dentist's office told me to not use so much toothpaste.

Saves me lots of money. My tubes last forever. I honestly don't remember when I bought the tube I'm on now.

I didn't know it had a name. But I guess momma does know what she's talking about!

Lucky little brother is just younger enough that his adult teeth weren't in until after we left that place.

Well HTC if you started brushing daily the tube wouldn't last so long.
