Go Canada Go - Drop the puckTo Whom it May Concern:
My American brethren, the English like to bust our balls mostly in part due to the reactions you give them. It's not necessarily mean spirited, it's their sense of humor so stop making asses of yourself by taking it personally and flipping out like girls in Jr. High...yes, I saw your note in study hall. (PS: See the bit below about making generalizations when you've not experienced something).
Having said that...
My lovely English friends (and I'll extend this to others as well). Stop making broadstroke generalizations about all of us being fat, stupid, lazy, or not able to understand a simple game like soccer/football. Until you've been here, met a vast majority in person (not online), stop with the generalizing or categorizing because you really don't know and you end up alienating the vast majority of us who do "get it."
Thank you,
BlackCherry
PS: Vamos Uruguay

did you even watch the game?.....if you did you'd have seen a ref whos screwed america over a couple in the past right royaly fucking it up......but then being english we get used to bad refereeing
Because he didn't allow the one goal? Sorry, but you guys still would've lost by two even if that one would've counted. I'm not disagreeing that it wasn't a goal, because it was, but the fact is that you all didn't play very well at all. Germany was simply better.
,i agree.....there needs to be a huge injection of young legs
right then......england were totally shit,i agree.....there needs to be a huge injection of young legs
now to the germany game.....i'm sure most of the europeans on here will agree with what i'm going to explain, the football following ones anyway
germany's first goal,it was a freak.....you probably wont see another like it in top class football for a few years
the second goal....rank bad marking but a great finish
now then, england pulled a goal back, minutes later lampards shot hit the bar and went a yard over the line,it was one of the best finishes of the tournament...only the ref and his assistant went blind for a second and never saw it...now heres the crux....teams fail or succeed on such things.....if that goal had counted england were on the ascendency,we were the team on the up.....as it was we went into half time 2 - 1 down.....meaning that the longer we went in the second half without scoring the more risks we had to take....germany capitalised on this and hit us on the break twice..thing is..if it had been 2 - 2 the england side could have played a more controlled game......so it was an important decision which might just have changed the eventual outcome.
have to agree with this, well i dont have to but i doWould've, should've could've. The facts are that England simply got outplayed. They could've overcome adversity, but they didn't. Just because a call doesn't go your way doesn't mean that you give up. The first goal came down to atrocious defending... call it a freak, but they didn't mark their man, and he split two defenders. The second goal was bad defending.
England got screwed out of a goal, but you guys still let two goals go by on bad defending past that as well. Sure, the game could've looked different, but it doesn't change the fact that they simply collapsed defensively. Germany flat outplayed you guys, you can disagree all you want and complain a bad call, but the fact remains that Germany was world's better yesterday.
the problem we have is the premier league.....with the exception of a few clubs theres too much fear....off the top of my head i can only think of arsenal, united and villa who are bringing young flair players through the ranks on a regular basis.if you look around you'll see no gascoines, waddles or hoddles...with the money at stake most wont take the chance on a young player who plies his trade in league 2,preferring to sign an established player from abroad...take chelsea for instance, for all of they're trophies they still grind results out
:eek *cough cough* West Ham! They have only brought through about half the England players from the academy, you know!
and look whats happening,we need a messi or kaka to appear from somewhere......things are in desperate need of new talented players
