Yeah well that's how I feel, snakes aren't domestic as far as I'm concerned. Putting them in cages shouldn't be an excuse to then be cruel to other animals because it's 'natural' for them.

I'm making no bones about the fact it was cruel. Not only to the kitten to literally feed her to the python, but also to the python. Pythons are also capable of killing humans.

regardless of the legalities,which i'm not sure of to be honest..over here and probably america too,dead food is widely available to feed reptiles with

chances are that the python in question wouldn't be alive in the wild,its a colour mutation which would have made hunting almost impossible

It's not illegal in the UK to feed snakes live rodents but it is a large grey area (unless the law has changed recently and offered clarity in the matter). It's very heavily frowned upon to use live feed, except when a snake is being fed a live rodent as a last resort. Especially when people can buy fozen dead rodents to feed snakes and many pet shops/rodent dealers will turn people away if they know an alive rodent will be used as live feed. There is also the murky area of whether or not it's deemed as harmful to the rodents to go through unnecessary suffering before death. And it gets more complicated when people talk about the snakes natural behaviour and so on.

My dad is really interested in snakes and used to go with him to visit his friends who owned various types of snakes and I used to help the Science teacher defrost mice to feed the school snakes.



I haven't clicked on the link. I don't really want to. I love cats and it's just going to upset me.

That's my only issue with the whole video, he wasn't just feeding the animal, he made a show out of it, and btw, that's not the proper way to feed a snake.

Nah, lock him in a room with the python til there's only one of them left.

Then dump the survivor deep in the Everglades.

I believe this is the same guy that posted a video of a kitten tied to a broom handle in a slowly filling bathtub.

Much easier to feed the python a tin of cat food.That way we don't have to even care what species it is consuming, much less if it suffered before it was killed and canned. Carnivorous animals eat meat. How we approach the business of killing that food will not change that fact. If you've ever watched a cat play with a live mouse or a baby bird before killing it, you'll know that humans are'nt the only species who use cruelty as entertainment.
