People who feel that they are "addicted" to some message board would probably do this sort of thing. They don't think that they can stop going to that website so they ask to be banned. They couldn't be seeking attention, because they're not going to be able to read what anybody else has to say anyway.
Some sort of attempt at last minute drama, perhaps?

I have gotten so tired of BS on Forums (not this one) that I said I would leave. After a few months to cool down I've come back. That probably kept me from being banned. But to each there own.
I do wonder what the points are for? Do they have CA$H value?? :confused
I agree,I have seen people being banned on here a lot. This is not aimed at anyone in particular because I have seen this several times lately. Why request to be banned from a board? Why not simply logout and leave? I have never understood that.
Yep the Tokenz I guess you call them (oops I called them "points") I just do see why they are that important?
I'm confused. Are you looking for an answer Or you found the answer
You earn points by posting and repping. You use points to PM and edit posts.

Saves them being hassled, and they can use the "you need to ask the member why they requested
