flu shots in my opinion are pointless.. the shots are from the previous flus ... only thing is your body is receiving the antigens from the dead or weakened flu from the shot so the helper t lymp. can create the antibodies... but everytime the flu adapts and creates new antigens... unless you are an infant or elderly... really no point in getting imo

I've always wondered about this jab. I mean, I've had the flu once in my life. Hardly seems worth taking a shot over. Like you Retro, I'm afraid of needles after a childhood trauma. No way I'd get this done.

I never use to get a flu shot but I did last year and this year when work offered them for free apparantly it was a combo of both. I really dont know what the big deal is though its nothing to gey bent out of shape about Dana. However if you do get the flu this year we better not hear you whining about how sick you are since you just had a mini tantrum about people recommending it.

I'd only get the vaccine if I was at risk of dying from the flu. But I'm not at risk, soooo go figure.
I can tolerate vaccination needles though, not as bad as blood tests, god lol.

here is my 2 cents that is actually worth a nickle ...

i have never had a flu shot...and i've never had the flu. ( ive never been bed riden with fever and puking my guts up, yes...i've had a stuffy/runny nose)

when you continually supplement what your body is supposed to do naturally, your body becomes less likely/capable of doing it on its own..it becomes used to the crutch.
your body is exposed to germs, bacteria etc. everyday, and your immune system takes things in and produces counter measures at its own rate, which is different for every individual.

ill use this as an example:
you have a co worker who was hired to do a job, but on a regular basis somone else does his job for him, he becomes used to this and starts to depend upon this other person to do this job,..but then this other person quits or gets moved to another department,..now since your co worker has had somone else doing his job for so long..hes no longer familiar with what has been transpiring in regards to the job he was supposed to be doing...so now not only does he have to play catch up, but he also has to re-familiarize himself with what he was supposed to be doing all along..he falls behind and is overwhelmed.

im not saying that this is a huge conspiracy by govt or big pharma, ..but it does make me think that people are being "conditioned"/"trained" to get these shots annually...almost like your being turned into addicts..dependent on the next "fix" :willy_nilly:

some may disagree,..which is their right,..and i promise if i am ever bed ridden, sick as a dog, puking my guts up etc. with the flu..ill post it so all of you can say "i told you so"....but i dont see it happening

I've been getting the shot for years and did again on Monday. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened yet except my dick grew an extra coupla' inches. My wife said I should book another appointment for a second round. I don't wanna do it cuz there isn't enough skin left to allow me to close my mouth as it is. :D

The needle might hurt a bit BUT the flu KILLS and with his asthma and allergies he, like Dad wants to stay alive as long as possible..

Now my 6 year old is a MAN.. :D

True that flu is viral  But....uhhhhh.....sorry to correct you ( red highlighted words) as the flu shot contains killed virus. I am attaching the link to the info :)

I am wondering how much of formaldehyde is placed on these vaccines. I know for sure this chemical is used for embalming and to preserve frogs etc at laboratories. Surely dont want that in my system :eek

Well if your afraid of Formaldehyde: known carcinogen best you not eat, breath or use cosmetics..

It's not about being a man. For a person with a phobia of needles, it's beyond that.

Yes and many here might think they only had the flu once but how many times were they carriers of the flu and contaminated others.. Family members that could have been vulnerable and made very sick.

I do believe that in the US the flu is also given in Nose Spray.. There is no reason to avoid this protection..

Sure it might be important, but having a needle is not about looking tough. Being majorly scared of one is beyond 'looking wimpy', a person's mental health is equally as important. I don't think it's right to say having a needle makes you a man.

Who says you'll die if you dont have it?

No flu shots, vaccinations or any other "shots" in this household...not even tetanus.:)

waits for the bombardment

Yeah, thanks for making fun of those of us that have a legitimate phobia of needles, it's greatly appreciated. I really love it when people make fun of me for things that I don't have any control over.

I think some people forget how severe phobias can be. People have anxiety/panic attacks over that stuff.

Like me... I was on the verge of passing out when I had my cortisone injection earlier this year... just from seeing the needle and knowing it was going in my body.
