Yeah, but they weren't particularly good. When it comes to the really good forwards in the WC, England are fucked with that defence.

Lampard went missing again. Please get over the fucking argument that they can play together, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T. THEY NEVER WILL BE ABLE TO BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMILAR PLAYERS.

No other Country in the whole wide world but England plays with two Centre Midfieders who are similar, it just doesn't work.

And last night he put Gerrard out left.....HE IS NOT A FUCKING WINGER, JOE COLE IS A FUCKING WINGER, SHAWN WRIGHT PHILLIPS IS A FUCKING WINGER

But Steven Gerrard isn't.

The problem is Fabio, or any other England manager, doesn't have a pair of bollcks big enough to drop Frank Lampard. Who has been completely shite so far, please don't tell me he hasm't, because he has. The England Centre Midfield should be Gareth Barry and Steven Gerrard. Because Barry can play a holding role, which is what is needed.

I could go on all day about England's problems, personally I think they might struggle to beat Slovenia, which is of course what they have to do. But they will never beat a Brazil or an Argentina playing that shit, fact.

But at least Carragher's out of the Slovenia game, that's a good thing.

Although I thought you wanted to get past that whole holding role thing... Never mind. :)

England do have a lot of problems, but they're easily fixable I think. The problem with England's best players, the most talented ones, is they need the freedom to do what they do best. And they haven't got that right now, because in the first game Lampard and Gerrard were trying to do that tandem thing and not quite clicking. And in the last game Gerrard kept coming inside and bogging the play down, forcing Lampard further back than he would have liked.

The other problem is because of the lack of pace in the defence, England are playing with a very deep line. This is the main problem I feel, it means the full backs can't influence the game as much, and England have two fantastic attacking full backs.
Secondly, the deep line obviously leaves Heskey stranded up front, and with Rooney in such poor form (I've never seen him be so wasteful in possession or so easily brushed aside) he's not much of an outlay when he actually does get close to the front man.

Frankly, I believe all England need to do is play with a higher line utilising the offside trap and pressure oppositions more, also pack the midfield with 5 across and Barry in the holding role. Yes, someone could get in behind us with pace, but I feel that's a risk worth taking. If we have players higher up the pitch and closer together, we can play football in the oppositions half, which is how I was taught to play football.
Right now, we pass it along the back 4 for 5 minutes, then hoof it long to Heskey, it gets hoof backed... Repeat.

I did before I rememebred why we needed one.

I think The 5 in midfield system could work, but only if....Hmm let me explain it. It's like 3 in a row.

Barry

Lennon Lampard Joe Cole

Gerrard

But like the wingers more wide, but in Joe Coles's case he could come inside a bit more because of Ashley Cole going forward.

The biggest benefit of this is that Heskey doesn't have to play.

Way harsh, surely they'll reverse it. Really good performance up to then from Brazil though, after the red card it unsettled them for a spell and had they not had the 3 goal cushion (becamse 2 after Drogba scored) it could have been a lot more nervy.

WC is picking up though, last few days have had a better quality in them.

They cant because it was for a second bookable offense.:thumbdown
France are falling to pieces, head of the French FA has resigned, the players are refusing to train.
Oh, and pathetic behaviour from John Terry! Capello should send him home if he's only interested in dividing the team!:thumbdown

Ran to the press off his own back to bleat about the England camp being divided.

Oh, I haven't seen that yet.
I heard an interview on the radio yesterday, were he sounded like a bit of a dick but I don't think he mentioned that.

It's a shame he can't really be dropped lol

some horrid officiating yesterday

Kaka did not do anything to get a yellow card and then the 2nd Brazil goal the guy twice on the play had a hand ball.

the hype the French team caused at least here in the USA media you would think it was a case of mutiny...

It pretty much is, not against the rules though. Lets face it, they didn't kick France out for cheating to qualify so their hardly going to kick them out for not liking their manager.

Oh, sorry it's a bit late but I've only just found this. Got to love how the New York Post reported the 1-1 draw with England.:24::24::24::24::24::24:
