They put our 2 year old gelding, Nic, down today. They're still not sure what was wrong with him. He developed an abcess under his jaw a few weeks ago but showed no other clinical signs of strangles. When he started going downhill on the weekend we sent him to the vet clinic. They did a bunch of tests and ruled out strangles. The last I heard, the vets were baffled as to what was causing his condition. In spite of what they did for him, whatever he had got so bad that he had complete kidney failure and they couldn't save him.

Nic is the one that gave me my black eye last winter in Arizona. :ninja
